Chapter Seven: The Wolf Sovereign — Silver Wolf
After Ling Feng carefully reviewed the plan and finalized every detail, and handled some of Bronya’s complex errands left unfinished during the day, night had already fallen deeply outside the window—it was quite late.
Rising to stretch his stiff joints, Ling Feng was about to head to the bathroom for a relaxing shower when he noticed that his bed’s blanket was oddly bulging, as if hiding something inside.
He lifted a corner of the blanket and peered in. Sure enough, a little darling was already curled up there. Her eyes were gently closed, her rosy lips parted softly with each breath, like a budding flower about to bloom—utterly adorable.
Ling Feng shook his head helplessly, a mix of indulgence and exasperation washing over him. When she was younger, Xier was afraid of the dark and thunderstorms, always needing to nestle in his arms to fall asleep. Over time, it became a habit she had yet to shake off.
But the little girl had grown up now. She had her own room yet still crawled into his bed regularly, which wasn’t quite right.
He decided he’d have to find a chance to talk to Xier about it.
Ling Feng pondered this quietly as he stepped into the bathroom.
As everyone knows, men tend to shower astonishingly fast—often in less than a third of the time it takes women.
Indeed, less than ten minutes later, Ling Feng emerged, efficiently dressed in loose, comfortable pajamas, towel-drying his hair, looking fresh and relaxed.
Shaking his hair free, he slipped back under the covers and skillfully wrapped his arms around Xier’s petite form.
The rearmed little rabbit thoughtfully switched off the bedroom light, plunging the room into a gentle darkness. Only the silvery moonlight streamed through the window, casting a delicate gauze over the floor, enhancing the tranquil serenity of the moment.
In the darkness, the sleeping Xier seemed to sense the familiar warmth and instinctively shifted to find a more comfortable position in Ling Feng’s embrace. A faint, sweet smile curved her lips, as if she were dreaming a blissful dream...
The next morning, sunlight filtered softly through thin clouds, scattering golden radiance across the earth, cloaking everything in a warm glow.
Ling Feng rose early, freshened up briefly, then returned to the company with renewed vigor. He promptly sent the finalized plan to the publicity team responsible for the “Otherworld” project’s promotional campaign.
Little did he know then, this seemingly ordinary decision would stir unexpected waves in his otherwise peaceful life.
…
The publicity department, one of the major divisions in Prosperity City, was always bustling with activity—a nonstop stream of people creating a vibrant, dynamic atmosphere.
Yet within this busy environment, there was a secluded cubicle, like a tranquil island untouched by the surrounding hustle, standing out with a peculiar distinctiveness.
Inside, a silver-haired girl wearing dazzling sunglasses sat poised behind a punk-styled gaming desk. Her posture was straight but slightly leaned forward, her fingers dancing like nimble spirits over a virtual keyboard with breathtaking speed.
At the same time, the holographic screen displayed her score shooting upward like it had been rocket-propelled, leaving onlookers stunned.
Alongside the rising score, breaking record after record, scrolling messages of admiration streamed continuously across the side screen to her left, praising her extraordinary gaming skills—as if she were an unparalleled legend in the gaming world.
Clearly, the girl was streaming a live game.
Live streaming, as a form of social entertainment, had flourished for decades without fading.
Perhaps, no matter how society evolves, as long as humans hold the desire to share, this form of entertainment will never vanish.
The girl’s codename was Silver Wolf—no real name, just a handle. She was an orphan, unaware of her parents’ identity.
Why “also”? Well… it seemed our protagonist had a kind heart, surrounded by many orphaned children without support.
A closer look would reveal the girl bore a striking resemblance to Bronya, as if sculpted from the same mold. She appeared a year or two older and carried a livelier youthful energy than Bronya.
“Beep beep beep beep—”
“99999!!”
“29 minutes 33 seconds!”
With precise clicks, the last falling block on the fractured light screen vanished with a boom, and an urgent alert sounded, marking the end of this game round. Yet this was only the game’s limit, not hers.
The screen then flashed “99999!!” and “29:33” brightly—like dazzling stars shining over the display.
This meant the score counter had hit its maximum, and the total time stayed under thirty minutes, once again breaking previous records.
In an instant, brilliant fireworks burst from the screen, their vibrant colors celebrating the girl’s victorious crown as the undisputed new record holder of this game.
However, her face showed little joy; instead, a smirk of disdain appeared. She casually pushed her sunglasses up and scoffed, “Hmph, this is what double speed looks like?”

Watching the barrage of comments scrolling by on the side screen, Silver Wolf boredly curled her lips, ready to exit the game and look for other fun titles on different platforms when a work notification suddenly popped up from another side screen on her right, an unwelcome guest appearing without warning.
