Chapter 145: The Monster Begs for Mercy

As True Man Xuanzhe finished speaking, the Evil-Exterminating Divine Sword at his feet automatically flew into his hand.

Drawing the Evil-Exterminating Divine Sword, True Man Xuanzhe hurled it toward the two Netherworld Hounds that were fleeing forward.

"Uncle-Master, these two monsters came in during the night. I do not know where they originated," Huang Xianlin replied.

"How is Wei Xiaoping now? Have these two monsters harmed any soldiers in the camp?" True Man Xuanzhe asked.

"Junior-Brother Xiaoping has regained consciousness, but his mind seems not yet fully clear! I went in to check on him just now; his eyes were open, staring at the ceiling, but he could not speak properly. The two soldiers guarding Junior-Brother Xiaoping were the first to spot these monsters. They don't know the exact time the monsters entered the camp last night, nor how they got in. One soldier said that when he habitually glanced to the right, he suddenly found these two monsters standing just one or two zhang away. For Junior-Brother's safety, they attacked the two monsters in an attempt to drive them away."

As True Man Xuanzhe, Huang Xianlin, and Big Yellow conversed, they walked toward the two Netherworld Hounds.

"You, Big Yellow, and the two guards joined forces to attack these beasts, yet you still couldn't defeat them?" True Man Xuanzhe asked.

"I didn't join the fight; I ordered Big Yellow and five patrolling soldiers to attack them together! These two monsters looked extremely ferocious, but for some reason, they only dodged the attacks from Big Yellow and the five soldiers without ever retaliating! After fighting for about an hour, the two monsters flew over in this direction."

Upon hearing this, True Man Xuanzhe felt a trace of surprise and said, "Even Big Yellow couldn't defeat these two monsters? It seems they are no ordinary creatures!"

Surrounded by the Evil-Exterminating Divine Sword, the two Netherworld Hounds began to bark at each other upon hearing Huang Xianlin mention that Wei Xiaoping had regained consciousness.

"It really is as we thought! Master has indeed woken up, even if his mind isn't fully clear yet," Boss Ma barked.

"What should we do? We don't know when Master will fully recover, and now we're trapped by this Taoist priest's divine sword! It seems escaping is impossible!" Niu Dahua said.

"These divine swords are so sharp; escape is out of the question! Let's see what they plan to do with us next and adapt to the situation as it unfolds!" Boss Ma responded.

By this time, True Man Xuanzhe, Big Yellow, and Huang Xianlin had arrived beside the two Netherworld Hounds.

True Man Xuanzhe carefully examined the two Netherworld Hounds for a moment and said, "These two creatures certainly look bizarre! Neither wolf nor dog, and each sharing three heads on a single body—I've never even heard of such a thing, let alone seen one! And to think they have iron chains around their necks; it appears they are creatures owned by someone!"

"Uncle-Master, could they be demons from the Myriad Beasts Demon Kingdom? I heard that last month, the Kingdom of Tiansong was attacked by demonic beasts from the Myriad Beasts Demon Kingdom, and some of them looked similar to these!" Huang Xianlin said. "However, they said the beasts that attacked Tiansong had bodies much like these, but with only two heads, whereas the two monsters before us have an extra head!"

True Man Xuanzhe replied, "They cannot be demons from the Myriad Beasts Demon Kingdom! To my knowledge, the king and queen of the Myriad Beasts Demon Kingdom have not taught their demonic beasts such high magic arts as to fly in the air. Since these two monsters can fly, they are certainly not from the Myriad Beasts Demon Kingdom!"

Huang Xianlin asked, "Then how should we deal with these two monsters now?"

True Man Xuanzhe said, "First, lock them in a cage with chains. Once I inspect Wei Xiaoping's injuries, we will decide!"

Hearing True Man Xuanzhe mention visiting Wei Xiaoping, Netherworld Hound Boss Ma immediately dropped to its front knees before him, letting out whines and bobbing its head three times in succession, much like a kowtow to True Man Xuanzhe.

Niu Dahua quickly followed suit, kneeling like Boss Ma and whining while bowing its head toward True Man Xuanzhe!

Seeing True Man Xuanzhe bind the two monsters with an iron chain, Huang Xianlin suddenly recalled how one of the beasts had bitten through the long sabers of three soldiers during the earlier skirmish. He immediately warned, "Uncle-Master, can this iron chain hold them? Just now, when five soldiers fought them, one of the monsters used its teeth to snap the soldiers' sabers in half. That shows just how sharp and hard their teeth are!"

Hearing that the monsters could bite through steel blades with their teeth, True Man Xuanzhe thought to himself that this proved they were no ordinary creatures. Since they were so formidable, why did they refuse to fight back when attacked by the soldiers and the terrifying Big Yellow?
