Volume 1, Chapter 27: His Highness Enjoys Changing Her Dressings
"Aren't you overstepping your bounds, Your Highness?"
She loosened her grip on the quilt she had been biting. If she didn't bite the quilt, was she supposed to bite him instead?
Lin Xiu ignored his remark. In that split second, his pupils constricted. Seizing the moment the other man retracted his weapon, he unleashed the full force of his power and lunged forward.
"Heh, the Wind God of Douyu is so famous on our national server now; you must have heard about it from someone else, right?" the head coach said with a smile.
The dormitory for the second batch of trainees remained on the first floor of the West Building. Once they graduated, the rooms would be left vacant, serving as temporary quarters for personnel from other regions during future special training sessions.
Her face was pale and drained of color, her forehead slick with sweat. She covered her mouth in terror, standing frozen in place, unable to move.
After the Q&A session concluded, one hundred and fifty candidates who performed well were selected. Hao Jun led them outside. Just as they reached the southwest corner of the courtyard, they heard shouts coming from the northeast.
"With Uncle Li overseeing things in the military, it doesn't really matter whether I'm there or not. Besides, I prefer some peace and quiet, and I have other things to attend to," Uncle Li said with a smile.
Although he had already guessed that Luo Yue was part of the underworld, he had not anticipated that her strength would be this terrifying.
Just as he held his longsword, poised to strike Lin Xiu, Lin Xiu raised his hand and caught the blade between his fingers.
"According to the laws of the Great Tang... it warrants execution," Xiao Rui stated calmly, reciting the legal code.
"Prepare to die." Gathering his internal energy, he soared hundreds of feet into the void. Carrying two massive stone spheres, each a hundred feet wide, he descended from the sky. A powerful aura instantly locked onto Qi Xuanyi, crushing the surrounding ground for thirty feet and forcing deep cracks into the earth, forming a massive circular crater.

"?" Dongfang Jing did not know how to respond when suddenly, his vision blurred. Lu Zhen had vanished from his spot like a bolt of lightning. When he reappeared, he had circled behind Hong Deguang, his fingers clamped around Zhu Xiaoya's throat. With a slight tightening of his grip, Zhu Xiaoya was forced to cough.
"No need. We have already made our plans. If anyone from the Divine Palace dares to come, we will make sure they regret it." As Xu Lei spoke, several elderly figures emerged from within the room, each of them possessing strength at the Sanqing level.
He Yun'er bit her red lips, struggling to restrain her emotions, not wanting Guo Lin to see her distress. Lin Wan'er, however, was unpretentious; she ran straight over and wrapped her arms around Guo Lin's waist. To express her dissatisfaction, she lifted her embroidered shoe and stomped hard on Guo Lin's foot.
Xiao Yan gently laid Yu Ting down and withdrew the Heaven's Sorrow Flute from his storage ring. His eyes were fixed intently on Yu Ting's pale yet beautiful face. He hesitated, bringing the flute to his lips, but just as he was about to play, he stopped. He lowered the flute; he couldn't bring himself to play it. He truly couldn't.
"Mengzhu, promise me you'll go back, all right? I will definitely rescue Young Master Zheng!" He gently tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, his calloused fingers brushing against the soft strands, as an uncontrollable surge of emotion welled up from the depths of his heart.
