Chapter 101: The Element-Breaking Hand
“That old fool really doesn’t know what’s good for him. Master Qi? Hah!”
“Exactly! He’s nothing but a scoundrel. Our young master is a hero among men—handsome, refined, the perfect fit for swords or fans! And that old man actually thinks he’s someone important?”
Jiang Zhengfeng listened to their pointless chatter by his side, his expression still somewhat gloomy.
“I say, young master, why don’t we find someone to teach that old Qi a lesson? Let’s see if he dares act so arrogant again!”
“That’s right, that’s a brilliant idea! It’ll show him just how formidable our young master is!”
“Enough!” Jiang Zhengfeng snorted coldly. “That man Qi isn’t someone you can mess with. Don’t try to be clever!”
“Really, young master? He’s just an old man. Doesn’t seem like much of a fighter,” one replied, doubt in his tone.
“You know nothing!” Jiang Zhengfeng’s impatience showed. “Before I came, eldest brother told me not to provoke him. That old man isn’t as simple as he looks!”
“Eldest young master?” the other repeated, awe in his eyes.
“Exactly. Since eldest brother said so, I have to listen.” Jiang Zhengfeng was clearly irritated. “Forget it. Let’s go to Wan Fang Pavilion. If any of you make trouble, even if I forgive you, eldest brother definitely won’t!”
“Yes, young master!” the two responded in unison, thrilled at the prospect of going to Wan Fang Pavilion.
“I heard the fourth young master has a stake in Wan Fang Pavilion too.”
“You don’t know, do you? The fourth young master controls several thief gangs. Some of the girls there were stolen by them for him.”
A fierce glint flashed in Jiang Zhengfeng’s eyes. “Do you want to get yourselves killed? Why are you discussing this in public? Shut up, or get out!”
Scolded by Jiang Zhengfeng, the two servants immediately fell silent and followed him obediently.
Going with the young master to Wan Fang Pavilion was all they cared about.
Five days passed swiftly.
Luo Tian had finally tempered the skin of his limbs with the true fire energy of Elemental Fire, though its exact effects were unclear. Still, Luo Tian thought it must be remarkable.
The physical tempering with Elemental Fire’s true spirit was naturally expected to yield excellent results. That much was certain. The other benefits were harder to gauge, but his defensive capability had clearly improved.
Shen Xing hadn’t spoken much to Luo Tian these past days, nor assigned him any tasks. She managed the shop herself, which suited Luo Tian perfectly.
After exchanging a few words with Yang Hui, Luo Tian left the shop and headed toward Master Qi’s Divine Weapon Pavilion.
The name sounded grand, but the shop itself hardly matched its grandeur.
Luo Tian shook his head slightly at the thought. It’s not the height of the mountain, but the presence of a spirit; not the depth of the water, but the presence of a dragon. Whether Divine Weapon Pavilion lived up to its name mattered little—so long as Master Qi was truly skilled, nothing else mattered.
Wherever an artisan resides, that is Divine Weapon Pavilion.
Taking a deep breath, Luo Tian stepped inside. “Master Qi.”
“Here it is!”
Master Qi was not forging weapons at the moment, but standing, carefully examining a pair of gloves in his hands.
Though not tall, Master Qi exuded a natural gravity simply by standing there. His eyes shone, his face wholly absorbed in his creation.
Luo Tian’s gaze was drawn to the golden hue and could not look away.
The gloves were not particularly unique in shape, just ordinary in appearance, but their whole body gleamed golden—the famed Devouring Element Golden Silkworm thread. At the joints connecting fingers and the back of the hand, a few emerald-green spots accentuated them.
“I ground most of the Breaking Element Jade into powder, wrapped the Devouring Element Golden Silkworm thread around it, then forged and wove them together. The larger Breaking Element Jade stones at the joints have been specially treated for greater offensive power.”
The fervor in Master Qi’s eyes had not fully faded. “Cultivators at the Meridian Flow stage can project elemental power as a protective shield, but with these Breaking Element Jade stones and Devouring Element Golden Silkworm thread, your advantage in close combat is assured. You’ll inflict far more damage on protective elemental shields. The rest, you’ll have to discover for yourself.”
“What’s its name?” Luo Tian, listening to Master Qi’s explanation, felt his heart blaze with excitement.
“A cultivator’s weapon should be named by its owner,” Master Qi said with utmost seriousness.
“Then I’ll call it the Breaking Element Hand!”
Luo Tian took his new weapon and quickly donned it.
The gloves were exceedingly thin, seemingly just a single layer. Luo Tian could barely feel their thickness when his fingers rubbed together. The inner lining was made of unknown material, but it felt remarkably comfortable.
“Will the Breaking Element Hand be damaged by weapons?”
Luo Tian asked Master Qi.
“It won’t be damaged by treasure-grade weapons, but I can’t guarantee with element-grade ones,” Master Qi shook his head slightly. “Devouring Element Golden Silkworm thread not only has immense destructive power against elemental energy, but is also extremely tough and hard to destroy. I also added Sea Demon Serpent tendon to the inner layer. You needn’t worry about defense.”
Hearing Luo Tian name his weapon, Master Qi subtly curled his lips.
Sea Demon Serpent?
That’s a fourth-tier magical beast! Not only that, but Devouring Element Golden Silkworm is also an exceptionally formidable fourth-tier beast.
This Breaking Element Hand is truly a costly creation—the Breaking Element Jade alone is valuable, and with materials from fourth-tier beasts, this is a treasure built with coin.
“Though it’s a top-grade treasure, ordinary top-grade treasures can’t compare. For three elemental stones, you got a bargain.”
Master Qi was very satisfied with his latest creation, though he had no intention of lowering the price.
Luo Tian, straightforward as ever, produced the prepared elemental stones. “Master Qi, do you have any spare treasures for sale?”
“No,” Master Qi replied without hesitation. “I never make extras.”
“How about inner armor or soft armor, would you make those?”
Luo Tian recalled that his inner armor was still damaged and not repaired. If Master Qi were willing to make one for him, it would be ideal.
“I only make weapons,” Master Qi’s demeanor returned to calm. “If there’s nothing else, you may leave.”
He’s even dismissing customers.
Luo Tian rolled his eyes—Master Qi certainly had his quirks.
After taking his leave, Luo Tian placed the Breaking Element Hand in his storage bracelet, wandered nearby for a while, then returned to the Shen Yang Trading Company.
“Senior Luo, there are a few items here that need to be delivered to the auction house,” Yang Hui approached as soon as he saw Luo Tian, pointing to a certain shelf.
