Chapter Sixty-Two: Origins
Luo Tian was still the same Luo Tian.
At least, from Luo Tian’s own perspective, nothing about himself had changed.
Yet, the fifty or so outer disciples sitting in dense clusters outside the door of Residence Thirty-Six in Area A would hardly agree.
True Intent was never a secret, and through both intentional and casual spreading, it had become something even disciples in the early stages of Qi Condensation were aware of.
If Luo Tian’s rapid rise in cultivation could still be dismissed with envious remarks about luck, his swift comprehension of the Fiery True Intent after witnessing Shen Lingfeng’s Frost True Intent was unmistakably a testament to his insight.
Such talent would surely catch the sect’s attention and might one day become an elder—a future powerhouse!
Waiting half a day was nothing; even spending ten days or half a month for a single word of guidance from Senior Luo would be worthwhile.
This was the unanimous thought among most outer disciples.
Hmph, when Senior Luo was just another senior, these people would curse and insult him if they had to wait a moment longer; now that Senior Luo had become the one who could defeat Shen Lingfeng, their opinions changed instantly!
Li Yang curled his lip in disdain, but his admiration for Luo Tian deepened. No matter how others saw him, Senior Luo had never changed.
Shenyang Mountain, summit.
Liu Changtian sat proudly in the main seat of the Shenyang Hall, his expression calm and unfathomable.
“Three months, seventh turn of Qi Condensation, comprehended Fiery True Intent?”
“Yes, Sect Master!”
Liu Neng bowed his head respectfully, his tone full of awe.
The man before him was not only the current master of Shenyang Sect but also the patriarch of the Liu family. Though not wielding absolute power over life and death due to sect rules and family law, his word was still law, and none dared defy him.
This was not merely due to his status, but also because he was the only one in Shenyang Sect with a Yuan Spirit Pill—a power surpassing Human Spirit Pills and second only to True Spirit Pills. To kill an ordinary elder would be as easy as eating or drinking.
“Have the three families made any moves?”
Liu Changtian asked casually, as if he cared little for the matter.
The master of Shenyang Sect appeared to be about thirty or forty years old, of moderate stature and unremarkable appearance, yet carried a faint aura of authority. Whether this was due to his strength, the habit of holding high office, or both, was unclear.
“For now, it seems they have no plans. After all, our Liu family is currently the strongest.”
After thinking for a moment, Liu Neng spoke, “However, Luo Tian comprehended the Fiery True Intent during a battle with a young member of the Shen family named Shen Lingfeng. Shen Lingfeng is also a genius—at the seventh turn of Qi Condensation, he comprehended the Frost True Intent of the Water Law.”
“Not bad. Fast cultivation, high comprehension.”
Liu Changtian nodded slightly, his tone approving but not surprised, as if it was only natural.
“Sect Master,”
Liu Neng hesitated, “How should we handle this Luo Tian?”
After a brief silence, Liu Changtian sighed softly, “Handle? Shenyang Sect is not in a position to use such words. We can only secretly support Luo Tian for now. Do nothing else—especially not recruitment or bribery, those low tactics are meaningless.”
Seeing Liu Neng’s surprised expression, Liu Changtian chuckled, “Don’t overthink it. Although most elders know the Seventh Prince brought Luo Tian here, and some core inner disciples are aware, they only know the surface.”
“Sect Master, what’s the truth?”
Liu Neng recalled the sudden arrival of the Seventh Prince years ago, his heart full of doubts.
After a pause, Liu Changtian explained, “When Luo Tian was brought here by the Seventh Prince, he had already lost his memory.”
“Lost his memory?”
Liu Neng was stunned.
At least, for a Yuan Pill realm cultivator, regardless of level, this was impossible to achieve.
“No need to be so sensitive. Certain pills can do this, but to merely seal memory temporarily, not erase it completely, while leaving comprehension and other abilities unaffected—that’s beyond ordinary alchemists.”
Liu Changtian himself was puzzled, “The Seventh Prince implied that we should treat him as an ordinary person, give no special care, and let his future depend on his own fate. Though Luo Tian is certainly not a royal of Yunfeng Empire, he must be related to them.”
“Sect Master, why?”
Liu Neng gritted his teeth, “Our Shenyang Sect is not strong in Yunfeng Empire. Why choose us?”
“Perhaps it’s precisely because we are the weakest, so Luo Tian was sent here.”
Liu Changtian sighed, “Maybe the Seventh Prince claimed to let fate decide, but in truth, he did not want Luo Tian to achieve anything.”
“Isn’t that just like us?”
Such words escaped Liu Neng’s lips, yet he felt no shame.
“That’s true. While we say we want to give commoner disciples more cultivation opportunities, ultimately, we must prioritize the four major families’ interests. Resources are limited. If a commoner returns from the empire’s selection, it might threaten our position.”
Liu Changtian spoke indifferently.
Five days passed quickly. Luo Tian continued to devote part of each day to guiding other disciples, but spent most of his time at the spirit gathering array node in the cave. However, the short time meant there was no significant progress in yuan energy cultivation.
Worth mentioning, though, was that recently, several disciples from the major families had come seeking guidance. Though they weren’t the elite, it was a promising start—except for the Shen family.
Luo Tian was unconcerned. Come if you wish; once he made a name for himself atop Ziyang Mountain, people would flock to him with contribution points and Divine Eye experience.
Today you ignore me, tomorrow you’ll shamelessly seek me out, and I’ll be willing to help you soar.
Luo Tian thought with satisfaction.
One matter, however, drew Luo Tian’s attention.
After entering the late stage of Qi Condensation, the energy within his body transformed from yuan energy to fire yuan energy. While practicing the Body Refining Secret Arts, the new fire yuan energy allowed the nearly maxed-out arts to advance further, producing powerful effects.
It seemed the nature of energy had changed, causing such an impact.
Luo Tian nodded inwardly, a glimmer of understanding passing through his heart.
Thank you to my friend n for the reward!
Thank you all for your recommendation votes!
Of course, I hope more friends develop the good habit of recommending Supernatural Senior Brother and rewarding and blocking, haha.
Honestly, these transitional chapters are exhausting—I spent the whole night on them, it’s so frustrating. But this afternoon and evening, a certain force will appear, mentioned before—wonder if anyone remembers?
