Chapter 15: I Won't Allow You to Look for a Man!
Before Song Xixi could fully comprehend what was happening, the group had already arrived at her side.
The man leading them bowed respectfully toward her.
“Miss Song, hello. Sorry to intrude. Our boss heard that today is your birthday and specially sent us to invite you to the VIP room upstairs. He has prepared some light wine there to celebrate with you.”
Song Xixi furrowed her brow, her face filled with surprise.
She couldn’t make sense of this situation—she didn’t know anyone who would make such a grand gesture.
Instinctively, she asked, “Who is your boss?”
The man only smiled without answering and made a gesture inviting her to follow.
Ye Chunxi, standing beside her, snapped back to reality and nudged Song Xixi’s arm softly. “Xixi, this looks like someone important. Maybe it’s something good. Let’s go have a look.”
Song Xixi hesitated for a moment but decided to see what it was about, nodding before following the group upstairs.
At the VIP room door, it slowly opened.
She looked up, and upon seeing who was inside, it was as if a thunderclap struck her.
There, Qin Ze sat on the sofa in the center, swirling a glass of red wine, watching her with a half-smile.
His eyes gleamed with a mix of pride and an inscrutable complexity she couldn’t decipher.
Song Xixi felt a mixture of anger and shock.
How had she run into him here? What on earth was he up to?
Noticing her expression, Qin Ze stood and leisurely approached her.
“Surprised? Miss Song, happy birthday. Today’s little performance is much more interesting than those muscle-bound guys downstairs, isn’t it?”
Song Xixi replied coldly, “President Qin, what does my birthday have to do with you?”
He wasn’t offended by her coldness and continued smiling. “How could it not concern me? Don’t you remember all the tangled matters between us? On such an important day, I naturally have to show up.”
Even he wasn’t sure why he had prepared a birthday gift for her in advance.
Perhaps it had become a habit.
Considering her recent actions, he hadn’t planned to give the gift after all.
Feeling frustrated, he came here to unwind at the bar he co-owned with friends.
Unexpectedly, he ran into her coming to meet some man.
Ye Chunxi watched the tense yet subtly charged atmosphere between the two with curiosity.
She quietly leaned toward Song Xixi’s ear and asked, “Xixi, do you really know the famous President Qin?”
Song Xixi shot her a sharp glance. “No, I don’t.”
—
Regretting coming to this bar to celebrate her birthday, Song Xixi was determined to endure and see what Qin Ze wanted.
Qin Ze saw through her thoughts and gave a signal to the men beside him.
The bodyguards immediately understood and started approaching Ye Chunxi.
Ye Chunxi became alert, unwilling to watch her best friend be dragged into this “den of wolves,” instinctively stepping back several paces.
“Hey, what do you want? Don’t come any closer!” she shouted.
But the bodyguards remained expressionless, advancing step by step.
One reached out to grab her arm.
Ye Chunxi fiercely shook it off, eyes blazing as she yelled, “I’m warning you, don’t try anything! If anything happens to me today, you won’t get off easy!”
Yet, as a lone woman, she could not overpower several strong bodyguards.
After struggling briefly, her arm was firmly seized.
She twisted her body desperately, shouting toward Song Xixi, “Xixi, this definitely isn’t good! Let’s get out of here!”
Song Xixi grew anxious seeing her friend dragged like this.
She realized Qin Ze was deliberately trying to separate her.
If Ye Chunxi got hurt because of her, it would be a serious problem.
Biting her lip, she suddenly spoke up, “President Qin, please don’t trouble my friend.”
Qin Ze raised an eyebrow and waved his hand, signaling the bodyguards to stop.
“Oh? Feeling protective? Miss Song, you’re quite loyal,” he teased casually.
Ignoring his mockery, Song Xixi turned to Ye Chunxi and said gently, “Chun, go home first. I’ll explain everything later. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Yes, I do know him—just don’t worry.”
Ye Chunxi was momentarily stunned.
She hadn’t expected that Song Xixi really knew Qin Ze, and judging by the look, their relationship was far from ordinary.
Though still concerned, she knew continuing to resist here was pointless.
She shot a fierce look at Qin Ze. “Xixi, be careful. If anything happens, call me immediately.”
Song Xixi nodded and gave her a reassuring look.
Watching her friend escorted downstairs by the bodyguards, she then turned toward Qin Ze.
Her eyes full of displeasure, she said coldly, “President Qin, what exactly do you want? It’s my birthday today—I have no mood for your games. If you have something to say, just say it.”
Qin Ze smiled and stepped forward, reaching to take her hand.
Song Xixi sidestepped to avoid him.
Unfazed, Qin Ze chuckled and suddenly pulled her with force.
Song Xixi fell into his arms.
Struggling—
Qin Ze gripped her hand tightly, his eyes darkening.
An inexplicable tension tightened within Song Xixi’s heart.
Before she could react, he slowly unbuttoned his shirt, sliding her hand inside.
The warmth of his skin touched her fingertips; the firm yet supple texture flushed her face scarlet instantly.
Leaning close to her ear, his warm breath brushed her neck with a teasing tickle.
“Weren’t you eager to feel my abs? Come on, indulge yourself.”
His voice was deep and magnetic, but Song Xixi felt nothing but embarrassment and anger.
She tried hard to pull her hand back, struggling and blushing as she scolded, “Qin Ze, are you crazy? Let go of me!”
Yet Qin Ze had no intention of releasing her and pressed her hand tighter.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at her, filled with a complex mixture of mockery, reluctance, and something more.
He chuckled softly, “What, so enthusiastic watching other men outside, and now you’re shy? Song Xixi, you’re really something.”
Song Xixi’s eyes reddened with anger.
She glared fiercely at him, “Don’t toy with me. There’s nothing left between us to talk about. What do you want with all this today?”
Seeing her both angry and hurt, something in Qin Ze’s heart twisted sharply, and he loosened his grip unconsciously.
After a moment, he said, “I won’t allow you to see other men.”
Song Xixi laughed bitterly. “President Qin, what right do you have to control me?”
Qin Ze’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Because I want to.”
