Song Xixi waved her hand modestly and said, “President Shen, please don’t be so surprised. I’m simply more passionate about this field and have spent a lot of time studying it. It just so happened that I could solve that problem—it was merely a coincidence.”
Shen Anzhi still found it hard to conceal his astonishment and shook his head repeatedly. “This is no coincidence, Miss Song. That was no ordinary problem—many professionals have been troubled by it, yet you resolved it with ease. That ability is truly remarkable.”
Song Xixi smiled in response. “President Shen, you flatter me. I was just doing my best.”
By this time, Shen Anzhi had gradually regained his composure, but the admiration in his eyes only grew stronger.
“Miss Song, with such hidden talents, I’m even more eager to discuss the project with you. Please, tell me your detailed ideas and plans.”
Song Xixi nodded slightly, cleared her throat, and began to speak methodically.
“President Shen, I have given this project careful thought. The market demand for this type of product is currently on the rise. Our advantage lies in integrating multiple resources to create a more innovative and cost-effective solution. From initial R&D investment to subsequent marketing, I have a complete plan…”
As she spoke, she kept an eye on Shen Anzhi’s expression.
He listened intently, occasionally nodding slightly or frowning in thought.
Outside the office, Secretary Wang stood still, his face dark with resentment.
He harbored deep grudges against Song Xixi, determined to find an opportunity to undermine her.
A colleague approached quietly and asked, “Secretary Wang, Song Xixi doesn’t seem ordinary. She actually got invited inside by President Shen. What exactly can she do?”
Secretary Wang snorted coldly and lowered his voice. “Hmph, it’s all just superficial. Probably just her luck—happened to catch President Shen in a good mood, so he wanted to hear her babble. Wait until she steps out, she’ll get what’s coming to her.”
The colleague sneered but said no more, curious about how the conversation would unfold.
Meanwhile, inside the office, Song Xixi had already outlined the project’s key points and general plan.
Shen Anzhi pondered for a moment. “Miss Song, your ideas are indeed innovative, but the implementation won’t be easy. For example, how do you plan to coordinate the interests of all parties when integrating resources?”
Song Xixi was well prepared. She smiled confidently, pulled a document from her bag, and handed it to him.
“President Shen, this is a detailed plan I compiled regarding resource integration. It includes negotiation strategies with our partners and models for profit distribution. Please have a look.”

Shen Anzhi took the document and read it carefully. The more he read, the more he realized this woman was no ordinary person.
The plan was meticulous and thorough, covering many points with great foresight.
He looked up and reevaluated Song Xixi.
After a moment of thought, he set the document down and met her gaze sincerely.
“Miss Song, you’ve done your homework thoroughly. I truly underestimated you. To be honest, after this exchange, I’m increasingly convinced that you are precisely the talent our company urgently needs to take on a major role.
I would like to formally invite you once again to serve as Chief Information Officer of Da Ke Group. With your abilities, you will surely shine in this position. Our company will offer you generous compensation and broad opportunities for growth. Please give it some serious consideration.”
Song Xixi hadn’t expected Shen Anzhi to bring up the CIO position again at this moment.
She shook her head gently. “President Shen, I appreciate your recognition, but I currently prefer to collaborate with your company on a project basis. I hope you can understand my decision.”
Shen Anzhi frowned, clearly surprised by her refusal.
He persisted in persuading her. “Miss Song, I understand you have your reasons, but the CIO role allows you to deeply engage with the company’s core business and oversee the strategic direction of information technology. The influence and sense of accomplishment it brings surpass mere participation in individual projects.
Moreover, our company is at a critical stage of digital transformation and urgently needs a professional and capable leader like you to guide this change. Are you sure you won’t reconsider?”
Song Xixi smiled patiently and explained, “President Shen, I fully understand the importance and opportunities of the CIO position, but at this stage, I truly enjoy focusing on the projects themselves and tackling each specific challenge.”
Shen Anzhi looked into Song Xixi’s resolute eyes, feeling a twinge of regret.
He smiled wryly and finally nodded.
“Miss Song, since you’re so determined, I won’t press the matter further.”
They spent some time signing the agreement.
“President Shen, thank you for your understanding and support. I will do my utmost to make this project a successful beginning to our cooperation.”
Shen Anzhi stood and extended his hand again. “Very well, Miss Song. I look forward to a smooth collaboration on this project. I hope under your leadership, it will shine brilliantly.”

Song Xixi quickly stood as well. “Rest assured, President Shen, I will give it my all and won’t disappoint you.”
Shen Anzhi rose and walked to his desk, pressing the button for an internal line.
“Assistant Lin, please come in.”
Soon, the office door was gently knocked.
A woman dressed in sharp professional attire entered.
She bowed slightly toward Shen Anzhi. “President Shen, you called for me?”
Shen Anzhi nodded and gestured toward Song Xixi. “Assistant Lin, this is Miss Song Xixi. From now on, we will be working together on some important matters through project collaboration. Please arrange an office for Miss Song—comfortable environment, fully equipped—to facilitate her daily work and project discussions.”
Assistant Lin was momentarily surprised. She hadn’t expected President Shen to treat Miss Song with such importance.
But she quickly regained her professional demeanor. “Miss Song, pleased to meet you. Rest assured, I will arrange everything right away to your satisfaction.”
Song Xixi smiled in return. “Thank you, Assistant Lin. I appreciate it.”
Shen Anzhi continued with instructions: “Also, Assistant Lin, notify all department heads that there will be an impromptu meeting this afternoon.
The main agenda is to discuss the project with Miss Song. Everyone should prepare in advance by reviewing relevant resources and potential challenges within their departments. We will brainstorm solutions together to ensure the project can start smoothly and quickly.”
Assistant Lin promptly replied, “Understood, President Shen. I will notify them immediately and send you and Miss Song the meeting time and location.”
After speaking, she nodded slightly to Song Xixi, then turned and swiftly left the office to begin the arrangements.
