Chapter 36: One comes, one dies; then, one buried!
Only Ye Changsheng and Su Qinyin were present at the scene.
Hearing this, the elder instinctively looked toward Su Qinyin.
"What? Are you saying this little girl is qualified?"
Ye Changsheng smiled, shook his head, and pointed toward the sky. "You misunderstood. We have one more person here!"
"One more person?"
Before the elder could even look up, Wan Jianyi descended from the sky, landing squarely on the elder's face with his backside. The impact was immense, and the elder was crushed into a bloody pulp on the spot.
Wan Jianyi dusted off his trousers, looked at the heap of flesh, and chuckled, "Little old man, am I qualified enough?"
Seeing this, the members of the Lijiang Sword Sect behind them were thrown into a panic.
"The elder... is dead?"
Wan Jianyi, while munching on a chicken leg, declared, "Listen well. My brother and I are blocking this gate today. Only by defeating us can you leave. If you can't, then stay inside and play the part of your spineless turtles."
A young man stepped out from the crowd of disciples. He was dressed in white, wore a jade crown, and was quite handsome.
"I will..."
He drew the sword at his waist, pointing the blade directly at Ye Changsheng.
"...challenge you!"
"Challenge me?" Wan Jianyi laughed. "Little brother, someone is challenging you so soon. You’d better treat him well!"
"Naturally. It’s been a while since I’ve hit anyone; my hands were starting to itch."
The man in white stepped forward and snorted, "Lijiang Sword Sect, Mu Ge!"
[Name: Mu Ge]
[Age: 25]
[Cultivation: Seventh Level of the Spirit Pellet Realm]
[Identity: Core Disciple of the Lijiang Sword Sect]
Scanning the data on the panel, Ye Changsheng breathed a sigh of relief. "I thought a master had arrived! With this level of cultivation, you dare to come here and act up?"
"Please, enlighten me!"
Ye Changsheng nodded with a smile. "Since you are in such a hurry to die, I will grant your wish!"
Mu Ge stepped forward like a bolt of lightning, his sword reaching Ye Changsheng in an instant. "Take this!"
Ye Changsheng stood his ground, showing no intention of dodging.
"Not running? How incredibly arrogant!"
"Not running makes me arrogant? Why don't you reflect on whether you’re just too weak?"
Ye Changsheng moved in a flash, darting out like a ghost.
"So fast!"
Mu Ge couldn't even track Ye Changsheng’s movements and could only cry out in alarm.
"Fast? Just wait, it’s going to hurt, too!"
Ye Changsheng appeared silently before Mu Ge and threw a punch. It flew like a cannonball, slamming heavily into his chest.
*Bang!*
The fist landed with a dull, muffled thud. The man’s body shuddered violently as a terrifying, savage force erupted within him. The power of this punch was overwhelming; Mu Ge’s chest caved in instantly.
*Pfft!*
Mu Ge felt a tightness in his chest and spat out a mouthful of blood. That wasn't all—his body was sent flying backward like a projectile, crashing heavily into the ground.
*Boom!*
As Mu Ge hit the ground, his arrogance vanished, and his eyes grew strangely clear.
"This guy... is he really this strong?"
"How about it? Did that punch hurt?"
Clutching his chest, Mu Ge whispered, "It doesn't hurt!"
Ye Changsheng smiled faintly. "Don't worry, let the bullet fly for a little longer."
Mu Ge looked bewildered. "Bullet? What bullet?"
Ye Changsheng didn't answer. He spoke softly, counting down.
"Three..."
"Two..."
"One..."
As the words left his lips, Mu Ge’s body began to tremble violently. His eyes turned blood-red as an agonizing, intense pain consumed his entire being.
"Aaaah!"
Mu Ge knelt on the ground, gritting his teeth and screaming madly. Ye Changsheng walked over and patted his head, as if he were petting a puppy.
"How about it? Do you want to live?"
Mu Ge didn't hesitate for a second. He nodded vigorously and replied, "Yes, I want to live! I don't want to die yet..."
"Then keep wanting it!"
Ye Changsheng pressed two fingers against the center of Mu Ge's forehead. With that single touch, the light faded from Mu Ge’s eyes as his soul was extinguished on the spot. Having lost his soul, the man’s eyes went dark, and he collapsed to the ground, motionless.
"Shatter!"
At Ye Changsheng's command, Mu Ge's corpse exploded. Seeing the gruesome death, the crowd grew restless once more.
Of course, it wasn't excitement—it was terror.
"We can't win, we absolutely can't win... even a core disciple was taken down with one punch..."
Ye Changsheng, ever the same, picked up his suona and played a tune. The onlookers, unsure of what he was doing, stood frozen in place, staring blankly.
[Congratulations to the host for completing the funeral service!]
Mu Ge’s strength was ultimately lacking, so the funeral grade was only blue. There were no major rewards, just a slight boost to his cultivation, though he was still some distance away from reaching the Infant Transformation stage.
Ye Changsheng picked up Mu Ge's sword and slammed it into the ground.
"Next challenger, please..."
"What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and call for more people!"
Time passed, and more and more disciples came to challenge them. Naturally, their outcomes were much the same as Mu Ge's; they were essentially beaten to death by Ye Changsheng’s punches—if one wasn't enough, two would suffice. Ye Changsheng was incredibly ruthless; not a single person managed to leave his hands alive.
Of course, Ye Changsheng was a man who saw things through to the end. After beating them to death, he buried them all. He gained quite a few rewards as he fought and buried them simultaneously.
By now, the ground was bristling with swords, all belonging to core disciples. There were ninety-nine core disciples in the Lijiang Sword Sect, and Ye Changsheng had killed half of them single-handedly. At first, the members of the Lijiang Sword Sect hadn't taken Ye Changsheng seriously, intending only to brush him off. But as the death toll rose, the situation spiraled completely out of control.
"Ah!"
A scream rang out. Ye Changsheng flashed forward, a spray of blood shot into the sky, and the disciple’s head was torn off.
*Clang!*
The blood-stained broken sword fell from the sky and pierced the ground, emitting a faint, mournful hum. With all the swords gathered, the scene had turned into a sword graveyard, a truly terrifying sight.
"Next one, please..."
Ye Changsheng slowly stood up, tossed the severed head onto the ground, and scanned his surroundings, his voice cold.
At this point, the onlookers were paralyzed with fear. They stood to the side, trembling in silence.
"What? Why are you all just watching?"
"Is there no one left in the Lijiang Sword Sect?"
There were still core disciples in the crowd, but none dared to step forward. They weren't fools; they only had one life, and if they died, it was all over.
A gust of wind swept through. In the distance, a dark mass appeared as the high-ranking officials of the Lijiang Sword Sect flew toward them.
Ye Changsheng looked into the distance, his eyes narrowing. "Such strong pressure. It seems the big shots of the Lijiang Sword Sect have arrived."
Wan Jianyi, who had been lying on a tree, shifted slightly and chuckled, "They aren't big shots. Just a bunch of stinking monkeys who bully the weak and fear the strong."
