Chapter Thirty-One: I'm Here to Beat You Up (Red Envelopes Await!)
It was Su Ye!
Jiang Liuying heard Su Ye's voice and immediately lifted her heavy head. The exhaustion and dullness in her eyes vanished, replaced by a look of delighted surprise.
A surge of indescribable emotion welled up in her heart.
At that moment, Jin Canjie also felt a sudden weight on his shoulder. He often used this move to flirt with girls and rarely failed, but he hadn’t expected to be interrupted now.
Given his status, who would dare meddle in his affairs?
Enraged, Jin Canjie spun around and barked harshly, “Who the hell are you? Let go—!”
Su Ye had no intention of being polite. He had already gathered his thunderous energy and, with a swoosh, landed a resounding slap across Jin Canjie’s face.
Smack—
The crisp sound silenced the entire hall.
This prodigy from another school, Jin Canjie, had just been slapped by Su Ye in front of everyone. That handsome face was now swelling up from the blow.
“You dare hit me?” Jin Canjie’s head rang from the slap. Shaking it off, he roared in fury.
“I damn well did!”
Su Ye planted his feet, clenched his left fist, and launched the “Mountain-Splitting Strike” straight at Jin Canjie’s chin.
Jin Canjie’s reflexes were sharp—he was, after all, a genius who had opened forty-seven meridian points. He raised his right hand, blocking Su Ye’s punch.
But as he blocked, his eyes widened in shock—the power within Su Ye’s fist was like a raging torrent.
Boom!!
Su Ye’s punch forced Jin Canjie’s hand aside and struck him squarely on the chin.
The clean, decisive blow sent Jin Canjie flying seven or eight meters, crashing heavily to the ground.
All of this happened in an instant. Most of the students only saw Su Ye slap Jin Canjie, then punch him clear across the hall.
No one had time to react.
“My god—Su Ye just flattened Jin Canjie?”
“They’re fighting! Report to the director—what are you all standing around for?” In a flash, the students erupted in chaos.
But many felt immensely relieved. Jin Canjie’s previous behavior had infuriated them for some time.
“Su Ye, beautiful job! Beat him up!”
“So much for being a genius—just a show-off, knocked down by one punch! If I’d known he was such a weakling, I would’ve gone to rescue Jiang, the campus beauty, myself.”
Su Ye ignored their chatter and went straight to support Jiang Liuying’s shoulders, sensing her weakness and frailty.
“What’s wrong? Are you sick? Your body’s shaking…”
“I’m fine. I just made a mistake in my training these past few days. Let me rest a bit—I’ll have someone bring my medicine and I’ll be fine.”
Jiang Liuying leaned weakly against the wall, regretting that she’d forgotten to take the elixir her father gave her this morning. Now her entire body was drained, and she’d almost been taken advantage of by that despicable Jin Canjie.
At the same time, her heart chilled—so many classmates had watched, yet not a single one came to her aid.
If Su Ye hadn’t arrived, she might have been left utterly disgusted.
They hadn’t finished speaking when another wave of exclamations rippled through the martial arts hall.
“Look—Jin Canjie—!”
Jin Canjie, who had been sprawled on the ground, suddenly flipped over and sprang to his feet with a graceful motion. Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, the sunshine in his handsome face was replaced by a fierce glint.
“So, you’re Su Ye? Hmph, that was just a sneak attack. What kind of man are you?”
Jin Canjie slowly removed his jacket, loosened his collar, pointed at Su Ye, and barked, “If you want to fight, let’s do it for real! Don’t say I’m bullying you—if you can stay standing after three moves, I’ll admit defeat!”
Su Ye was still seething.
If he couldn’t even defeat Jin Canjie, how could he dream of confronting Yu Zhisha?
“Seems I went too easy on you just now!”
Seeing Jin Canjie ready himself, Su Ye’s body tensed. He clenched his right fist, and his meridians blazed with surging energy.
Crackling sparks of electricity danced over his fist!
Boom!!
He threw a punch.
Jin Canjie blocked fiercely; a powerful surge battered his entire body. His legs bent slightly, and with a thud, a ring-shaped shockwave spread from his feet, sending dust swirling and leaving a three-meter circle around him cleaner than elsewhere.
Jin Canjie’s pupils contracted. Before he could react, Su Ye’s second punch was already upon him.
Bang!
This punch sent Jin Canjie staggering back more than ten meters.
Staring in disbelief at Su Ye, he blurted out, “There’s no way you’ve only opened twenty-three meridians!”
“You talk too much!”
Su Ye’s movements were agile as a cat. He leaped high, spun in midair, and his long right leg shot out like a coiled spring, slamming into Jin Canjie’s chest.
Jin Canjie had barely steadied himself when he was struck again, his body going limp as he stumbled backward.
But Su Ye gave him no chance to recover. Landing lightly, he immediately bounced up once more, spinning and gathering force for another kick.
Boom! Boom, boom!!
From a distance, Jiang Liuying watched Su Ye’s legwork, her wide eyes brimming with astonishment, her rosy lips slightly parted as she murmured, “Isn’t that our Jiang family’s Seven-Step Meteor? Didn’t he just ask my father to teach him last month? My god, what kind of monster is he?”
Crash—
By now, Jin Canjie had been kicked hard into the wall. Su Ye stood on one leg, pressing his foot against Jin Canjie’s throat, pinning him so tightly he couldn’t move.
Jin Canjie grabbed Su Ye’s leg, trying to push it away, and gasped, “You cheated—if you’ve got guts, do it again!”
Su Ye looked at him coldly and said, “Are you blind? Even Jiang Liuying you dare lay hands on—do you think First High School of Yangcheng is a place for you to run wild?”
The students around them felt deeply vindicated.
There was nothing wrong with welcoming students from other schools, but Jin Canjie was far too arrogant and overbearing. Many wished they could give him a kick themselves.
“Stop—Su Ye, what do you think you’re doing?”
Suddenly, an angry shout rang out from the second floor.
A bulky figure leaped down from above. Though his face was round and fleshy, his movements were swift—this was Counselor Cai Weisong, a cultivator of impressive strength.
Before his shout had even finished, he had already landed, his foot flashing out in a blur toward Su Ye.
“You—”
Su Ye cried out, raising his arm to block, but with a thunderous impact, his entire body was sent flying more than thirty meters before he managed to stagger to a stop.
At once, he realized his blocking arm had gone completely numb and lost all feeling.
Cai Weisong hadn’t held back at all.
If not for his recent breakthroughs, that single kick would have shattered his bones.
Su Ye was about to protest, but then he saw school leaders, instructors, and others already descending from the second floor.
Cai Weisong, distressed, brushed dirt from Jin Canjie’s clothes, even wiping off the footprint on his chest with his own sleeve as he trembled, “Jin Canjie, are you alright? Not injured, I hope? Don’t worry, we’ll handle this seriously and give you a satisfactory answer.”
Jin Canjie, humiliated, glared fiercely at Su Ye but said nothing.
The other prodigies who had come with him all hurried over to express their concern, their angry gazes fixed on Su Ye; some were already cursing aloud.
Cai Weisong jabbed a finger at Su Ye, berating him, “Su Ye, you useless troublemaker! You’ve gone too far! You even dared to hit Jin Canjie! You disregard school rules, you’re a disgrace to our class—we will not tolerate a rat like you in our school! You’re expelled!”
Su Ye shot back, “Hmph! Have you looked in the mirror lately? You’re nothing but a mad dog! Did you even ask what happened? The moment you arrived, you sided with the outsider. Don’t forget, I’m a student in your Spiritual Energy Class!”
“Bah! I don’t have a student like you. I don’t care what happened—if you dare lay hands on someone, you’re in the wrong! You, Su Ye, are expelled! Get out—!”
