Chapter Fifty-Six: Breaking Through the One Hundred and Eight Acupoints
Su Ye’s body suddenly shuddered, an indescribable feeling swept over him from head to toe. Even with the scars on his back submerged in water, he could acutely sense that Qian Li Luo behind him was pressing her soft lips to his wounds.
Wasn’t she supposed to replenish his innate deficiency? Why was she using those fragrant lips?
"Don’t move. Let me do this. I’ll go slower," Qian Li Luo’s voice drifted through the water, strangely alluring and melodious.
Su Ye stood in the water, fists clenched tight, the ethereal blue glow from beneath illuminating his body and the delicate beauty of Qian Li Luo. Her flowing hair made her seem even more enchanting.
He held the special pearl in his mouth, lips sealed, feeling the soft sensation passing repeatedly over his nine scars. The feeling caused his blood to surge through his veins.
Suddenly, the scars stung, a peculiar itchiness rising within, yet upon closer feeling, it was oddly comfortable.
Astonishingly, his hideous scars were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Su Ye trembled in body and spirit. By nature, he would never easily trust another, especially someone who minutes ago had been a mysterious adversary. But he understood he had no choice.
If he did nothing, he would certainly be slaughtered by the Zhou family’s martial artists. Moreover, if Qian Li Luo wished to kill him, it would be all too easy; in his current state, he couldn’t possibly escape.
“Ah—” After the itchiness faded, Su Ye felt the domineering heavenly thunder surge within him, about to tear through his veins beyond his control.
Qian Li Luo’s movements stalled. Her voice echoed, ethereal as it came from the water, “Does it hurt? You must endure it. With the scars removed and my blood supplementing your innate deficiency, your internal energy will flood your meridians—you can seize this moment to break through. It will be painful. If you need to stop, just grab me, and I will halt immediately.”
Su Ye couldn’t speak, but he shook his head with force. What did this pain matter?
Continue!
Boom—
Inside him, the heavenly thunder exploded, treating his body as the heavens themselves, tearing recklessly with lightning.
Every bone felt as if it was being crushed. His body involuntarily curled, the scars on his back felt as though scorched by fire, the powerful thunder growing ever more savage within him.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
As Su Ye circulated the "Yanhuang" technique, the thunder forcefully broke open three major meridians.
At such a pace, he should have been wild with joy, but he had no time to celebrate. The heavenly thunder within was like a frenzied dragon; he could only barely guide it through his meridians.
"This is the technique from the Heaven-shaking Stone Tablet! So domineering!" Su Ye recalled the ancient script on the tablet, desperately channeling it, illuminating each meridian as he broke through.
Under the dark waters, his body gradually radiated beams of light, shining from within and making the lakebed as bright as day.
"Su Ye, hold on, there’s one last scar!" Qian Li Luo’s voice trembled, for the power erupting from Su Ye’s body was enough to blast her away.
Now she had to exert her full cultivation just to stay close.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Meridian after meridian was smashed open!
Su Ye discovered his physique was like an inexhaustible treasure; with each meridian unlocked, he reached levels of strength he had never imagined.
He had previously written the “True Person’s Absolute Meridian” from his insights, even transmitting half of it to the “Spirit Cultivation Hall.” That was his understanding, already superior to other breakthrough methods.
But the automatic meridian-opening method now emerging in his body was the unique “Yanhuang” method.
“What kind of technique is this? Is it refining me into heavenly thunder itself, or into that Heaven-shaking Stone Tablet?”
At that moment, Qian Li Luo finally removed the last scar. Unable to withstand the overwhelming power, she was flung away, a thread of golden blood spilling from her lips—a vital blood from her heart, given to repair Su Ye’s innate deficiency.
Crash!!
Suddenly, Su Ye felt something lost long ago return to his body!
Under the twisting heavenly thunder, all one hundred and eight major meridians were broken through.
In that instant, he shone like a beacon, the surrounding seawater spinning madly, transforming the enormous lake—hundreds of meters deep—into a terrifying vortex.
Qian Li Luo had retreated into the cavern, eyes wide with astonishment, murmuring, “Such a phenomenon… His aura can even trigger my own transformation. Who is he, really?”
Su Ye was unaware of her thoughts. At this moment, his fists clenched, lightning arcing across his body, surging power within him desperate for release.
He opened his mouth wide: “Roar—!”
With a furious bellow, the tumultuous sea before him was struck by waves of energy, torn open in a straight channel.
Above, the high heavens seemed to respond, as a bolt of heavenly thunder crashed down.
Su Ye heard the thunder and felt a jolt in his spirit, sensing a newfound sense of mission.
Countless questions he had never understood suddenly became clear.
“The human race has declined, the sages are gone! Guided by heavenly thunder, I pass on the Yanhuang Method, first scroll!”
Boom—
Yanhuang Method—could it be the legacy of the Flame Emperor and the Yellow Emperor, the ancestors of Huaxia? They were like emperors among men! Unexpectedly, the Yanhuang Method existed within the heavenly thunder.
And this was just the first scroll; there must be a second, perhaps a third—where were they, and how were they transmitted?
Even so, this first scroll alone encompassed all things. Su Ye had yet to comprehend it fully, let alone master it.
If one day he could grasp it all, what kind of existence would he become?
Just then, Su Ye, lost in insight, suddenly opened his eyes wide. He sensed martial artists on the shore entering the range of his heavenly thunder.
Among them was Zhou Yu Yang!
…
On the lake’s shore—
Zhou Yu Yang, Zhou Zhi, and more than ten others stared in shock at the vortexed waters.
They had come partly to kill Su Ye, but mainly to slay the glowing jellyfish beneath the cave. Originally, they believed the jellyfish was at its last gasp, but now this vortex had appeared.
“It must be that wretched jellyfish causing havoc below!” Zhou Zhi said darkly.
“This is no simple matter. We mustn’t act rashly! To turn the lake into a vortex, and with thunder just now, there may be something else beneath!” added a short-haired, older man, soberly.
Zhou Yu Yang, however, remained arrogant, saying coldly, “It’s just the Shouting Spring below—what’s there to fear? I told you, the jellyfish is already severely wounded. Hurry and get in the water to finish it off. If we wait longer, it may escape back to the sea.”
“Master Zhou, we’re here for Su Ye. As for going in the water, our Yu family won’t participate,” sneered two lean young men, clearly brothers by their strikingly similar features.
The Yu brothers had already reached the first level of the Qi Gathering Realm. They hadn’t yet accomplished any tasks for their family, so they were new faces to outsiders—making them ideal candidates for killing Su Ye.
Zhou Yu Yang was furious, shouting, “What, you want to act alone? I need to kill Su Ye, too. Our goal is the same, but only if we kill the jellyfish below together do we qualify for immunity. Otherwise, if you kill Su Ye, aren’t you afraid of the Jiang family and Martial Alliance pursuing you?”
Hearing this, the Yu brothers hesitated. Indeed, if they killed the jellyfish first and claimed the legendary treasure, the Martial Alliance would surely protect them.
But if they went after the jellyfish first, Su Ye might escape.
The Yu brothers argued, “The jellyfish can be killed anytime, but Su Ye hasn’t been spotted. If he escapes, where will we find him?”
Suddenly, a frigid voice echoed from the raging vortex, brimming with fury and shaking the entire lakeside:
"Are you looking for me? I’m here!"
