Chapter 119: Zorah Magdaros Makes Landfall!
Su Yi soon arrived at the Pokémon Center where Corviknight had been sent for treatment.
“Corviknight is out of danger now. After some rest, it will regain its energy,” Nurse Joy said, handing over Corviknight’s Poké Ball.
Su Yi nodded in gratitude. “Thank you very much, Nurse Joy.”
She smiled warmly. “No need to mention it, but be sure to take good care of Corviknight. From the injuries, you can tell it fought very hard.”
Back on the rooftop of the hotel where he was staying, Su Yi released Corviknight.
“Corviknight, thank you for your help in battle. Your fighting spirit was impressive, and your strikes were full of power,” Su Yi praised with a smile.
“Caw,” Corviknight replied softly, sounding somewhat apologetic.
Originally, Corviknight’s approach had been a bit headstrong. Confident in its strength, it had volunteered to assist Su Yi, eager to experience top-tier battles firsthand.
But after seeing Su Yi’s subsequent fights at the Pokémon Center, it realized that Su Yi’s partners were also formidable.
This made Corviknight feel guilty—had it actually caused Su Yi to struggle more than necessary?
Lurantis cocked its head, conveying the general meaning to Su Yi.
Unfazed, Su Yi chuckled. “You did very well. No need to worry about it. You enjoyed the fight, didn’t you?”
Judging by Corviknight’s moves and its calm, dominant performance, it was clear this Pokémon was quite powerful and battle-experienced. It hardly seemed like a mere stray.
However, since Corviknight didn’t volunteer any details, Su Yi refrained from pressing.
“Corviknight, I only caught you to provide easier access to treatment. Now that you’re fine, this Poké Ball…” Su Yi said, holding up Corviknight’s Poké Ball.
“Caw?!” Corviknight’s expression was one of surprise.
Lurantis translated beside him, “Are you not going to catch me? I was ready to be caught before the battle!”
Su Yi smiled. “If I caught you, what would happen to your flock?”
“They need a leader. If I were caught and my flock suffered because of my absence, causing you regret, I couldn’t do that. You should decide what’s best.”
“Besides, you don’t even know what battles I’m going to face. They’re far more dangerous than Pokémon battles.”
“Maga,” Corviknight fell into thought.
Su Yi also pondered. Corviknight clearly wanted to roam and face challenges, but it still had attachments. If after fully understanding the adventures ahead it still wished to stay by Su Yi’s side, then Su Yi would have to consider how to care for its flock properly.
After a while, Su Yi had an idea. Smiling, he said, “In that case, once you’ve rested well, I’ll show you the world out there.”
The next morning, Corviknight’s injuries had healed; it could fly and battle without issue. The accompanying Pokémon had also regained their fighting strength.
That was the advantage of Pokémon physiology—so long as they didn’t overexert or damage their core, recovery was swift.
Ding!
Su Yi’s Rotom phone notified him of a new chat message.
He opened it and saw a selfie sent by Nemo, with an airplane in the background. Nemo smiled brightly, waving.
“Bye, Su Yi! Remember to come visit me when you have time.”
Smiling, Su Yi began typing a reply, but noticed the logo on the plane—it was the emblem of the Rotom Phone company.
Well, well, still using their own company plane. Money sure makes life easy—you can fly wherever you want.
Su Yi: “Next time, definitely!”
Nemo: “It’s a deal!”
Su Yi:
Young, financially untroubled, and a champion—Nemo had attained what others might spend a lifetime chasing.
All that remained was to hone her commanding skills and train her Pokémon, a relatively long process. Without anyone to battle with, her youthful energy quickly turned to boredom.
Su Yi: “I think you should find something else to do. Look, other champions all have side activities. Why not find something you like that also relates to Pokémon?”
Nemo, you’re just too idle!
Look at what other champions do besides battling.
In the Kanto and Johto regions, champions like Agatha or the League Inspectors bring any evil-doers to justice.
In Hoenn, champions like Steven dig deep into the mines—if you’re a man, you mine through a hundred layers!
In Sinnoh, champion Cynthia, despite her indecisiveness, believes theology and history are dialectically united.
In Unova, champion Alder contemplates retirement, urging youth to strive for the title.
In Kalos, champions like Diantha balance fame and battle prowess.
In Galar, champion Leon is a busy man whose cape is plastered with sponsor logos.
And in Paldea, champion Nemo, reportedly still in school, is a battle-loving heiress… well, that’s about it.
Su Yi: “I have an idea—why don’t you become a battle instructor? That way, you can legitimately battle others and keep busy.”
Nemo: “Oh! That’s a great idea! I’ll try it once I’m back!”
Satisfied, Su Yi put away his phone, glad the young girl finally found something meaningful to do.
The new continent, the Ancient Tree Forest—a day brimming with hope.
“Come out, Corviknight,” Su Yi said, breathing in the fresh air as he released the Pokémon.
“Caw!” Corviknight appeared, curiously surveying its surroundings.
In the distance, a herd of herbivorous Pokémon grazed leisurely on the plains, while towering ancient trees soared into the sky, awe-inspiring.
“This world is different from what you’ve known before—wild, vibrant, but also more dangerous,” Su Yi said.
“Maga,” Corviknight looked over the vast, primitive forest, its raw nature contrasting sharply with the steel jungle of the city. At that moment, it felt the vastness of the sky and freedom.
“Uh, Corviknight, don’t fly too high just yet. I’m afraid a Charizard might come hunting,” Su Yi cautioned, quickly stopping Corviknight’s soaring plans.
Seeing Su Yi’s caution, Corviknight restrained its restless energy.
“Su Yi, meow, the herbivore herd seems to be acting strangely!” Lurantis suddenly pointed toward the plains.
“Oh?” Su Yi opened his binoculars and peered toward the grasslands.
The herbivores that had been leisurely grazing suddenly panicked and fled into the dense forest.
“Is there a predator?” Su Yi looked toward the thick trees, then to the sky, but saw no large creatures.
Crash!
Boom! The waves crashed against the shore with loud sound.
“The waves sound louder than usual, meow,” Lurantis tilted its head.
“Waves?” Su Yi turned to face the sea.
On the blue ocean, now rippling with waves, several large ships sailed in the distance.
“That is—?!” Su Yi’s eyes widened.
Thud!
The churning sea suddenly trembled.
Then—
Boom!
A colossal dragon glowing with molten red light burst forth from the sea, sending vast waves crashing and letting out a majestic roar.
One ship was pinned on the beast’s back, while the others were tossed aside like toys. The dragon, carrying the weight of a volcano, took heavy steps, beginning its landing on the continent.
“Raging Volcano Dragon has landed!” Su Yi lowered his binoculars, clenching his fists.
