Chapter 116: Ruthlessness
Chapter 116: Ruthlessness
As Bai Zeshao helped Li Huihui down from the execution rack, he could still feel her body trembling uncontrollably in his arms.
"It’s over now. Everything is in the past. Go home, get a good night’s sleep, and you can go back to school tomorrow. Just treat today as a nightmare—when you wake up, it will all be forgotten," Bai Zeshao said softly.
Li Huihui did not speak. Her disheveled long hair obscured her vision, but tears flowed silently, dripping from her cheeks onto the floor.
As they passed the two death-row inmates, Li Huihui suddenly stopped. She pulled herself away from Bai Zeshao’s embrace. Bai Zeshao asked with concern, "What is it? Don't worry, I won't let these scumbags go."
"No, I want to take revenge myself." Li Huihui rejected his offer, looking at him with a calm expression. "Give me your gun."
Bai Zeshao had initially intended to refuse, but when he looked into her eyes, the words died in his throat. After whispering a warning to be careful, he handed her his pistol.
"No, don't! I was forced into it! It was all Tian Yaopeng’s idea!"
"Really, I beg you, don't shoot!"
"Please, I’m begging you!"
With the pistol pointed at them, the two inmates, known as Boss and Third, knelt on the floor and pleaded. Although they were on death row, it did not mean they lacked a fear of death; otherwise, they would not have been handpicked by the Second Unit.
Yet, in this place and at this moment, the roles had reversed. They had shown no mercy to Li Huihui earlier, and now, Li Huihui would show no mercy to the scum who had violated her.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Four consecutive gunshots rang out in Bai Zeshao's ears, followed by a chorus of wailing that filled the gloomy interrogation room.
The two men were shirtless, rolling on the ground in agony. Their hands had been pierced by bullets, and blood pooled on the floor.
Li Huihui tucked the pistol into her waistband, picked up a large pair of iron pliers from a nearby table, and approached them, swinging the tool.
Watching this, Bai Zeshao couldn't help but interject, "Huihui, that's enough. These scumbags aren't worth it; don't dirty your hands."
He wasn't feeling pity for the inmates; he simply found it tragic that a vibrant, carefree student had been pushed to this point. It was heartbreaking.
"I am already dirty," Li Huihui said calmly, glancing at him before resuming her work.
She stepped on Third's chest and looked down at him. In the man's terrified eyes, she inserted the large iron pliers into his mouth. As he struggled in futile resistance, she clamped the tool shut.
*Crunch!*
Half of a tongue fell to the ground. Third thrashed about, his mouth full of blood, unable to form a coherent word, his agony driving him to roll around and knock over various objects.
"No, please, don't! I was wrong, I was really wrong!" Seeing Third's miserable state, Boss completely broke. Terrified to the point of wetting himself, he scrambled to his knees and began kowtowing frantically, begging for mercy.
He had never imagined that the delicate girl from before would transform into a female Asura, as if she had crawled out of hell, her face and body radiating pure killing intent.
*Thud, thud, thud.*
Dragging the iron pliers, Li Huihui walked up to Boss. Seeing the woman inches away, he kowtowed even faster, his forehead splitting open, yet he dared not stop.
Li Huihui stood silent, watching him without making a move.
Boss seemed to see a sliver of hope and grew even more fervent in his begging. After about a minute, he finally heard the words he longed for: "Enough. Stop kowtowing."
"Thank you, thank you so much!" The bravado of a death-row inmate was completely gone; hearing her words, the man actually broke down in tears.
*Smack!*
Li Huihui suddenly kicked him, sending the unsuspecting man sprawling. Then, before his horrified eyes, she aimed the pliers at his groin and squeezed down without hesitation.
"Ahhh!"
A scream of agony echoed once more. Giving someone hope only to plunge them back into the abyss—this roller-coaster of torment was driving the man mad. He finally realized that this woman would never let him go.
His inner viciousness flared again, and he cursed, "You crazy woman, you slut! It really felt great, especially that skin of yours—it was heavenly! Too bad there wasn't enough time, or I would have made sure you tasted what it's like to be a woman, ha ha!"
As he spoke, he deliberately licked his lips with a lewd, lingering expression.
Enraged, Li Huihui raised the pliers to strike again.
"That's enough," Bai Zeshao commanded.
But despite his intervention, Li Huihui only paused for a moment before continuing her movements.
"I said that's enough! Stop it!" Bai Zeshao's voice rose sharply. He had let her act earlier to vent her inner rage and violence, but it was clear now that Li Huihui was on the verge of "losing herself." Her cold, ruthless efficiency was enough to make even him flinch.
Under his gaze, Li Huihui finally stopped. She loosened her grip, and the iron pliers clattered to the floor.
"Let's go. Let's get out of here," Bai Zeshao said, noting the heavy scent of blood filling the room.
"Yeah," Li Huihui nodded and walked toward the door.
Bai Zeshao glanced back at the two men writhing in agony on the floor and sighed. As he passed the rack, he grabbed two sharp daggers and swung them.
*Squelch! Squelch!*
Two sounds of blades piercing skin echoed, and the wailing in the room abruptly ceased. Boss and Third lay still in pools of blood, finally dead. Bai Zeshao had granted them release.
At the entrance.
Seeing Bai Zeshao emerge with Li Huihui—who was disheveled and wrapped in his coat—Wu Zhengke’s expression shifted. He approached with a smile, asking with concern, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Fortunately, we arrived in time. One more step, just one more step and..." Bai Zeshao didn't finish the sentence, but everyone understood the implication.
"That's good, that's good," Wu Zhengke exhaled in relief.
"By the way, Chief, I've taken care of the three scumbags inside," Bai Zeshao explained.
"It doesn't matter, anyway I..." Wu Zhengke’s voice trailed off, his expression turning grave as he looked past Bai Zeshao.
Instinctively, Bai Zeshao followed his gaze and saw that Li Huihui had suddenly pulled out a gun and pressed it against Tian Yaopeng’s head.
