Chapter 1: A God of Wealth Arrives in the Entertainment Industry (1)
"Jin Nian, please listen to me..." The woman in a silver evening gown, her face pale, reached out to grasp the arm of the man before her. Yet he stared at her with undisguised disgust, and her hand froze helplessly in midair.
"What really happened, I saw with my own eyes. Jiang Nian Nian, don’t force me to use other means." The man’s gaze was cold and vicious, filled with loathing and contempt, as though he might tear her apart in the next instant.
"Back then..." Jiang Nian Nian tried to speak, but the look in Fang Jin Nian’s eyes silenced her; all her words swallowed, bitter in her mouth.
Then, looking pale, Jiang Nian Nian turned toward Jiang Youyou, who stood nearby, and stammered, "Youyou, I’m sorry."
Oh, well.
Returning to herself, Jiang Youyou found herself witnessing a classic scene of man tormenting woman. Tsk, so this was the romance between two lunatics—one without a mouth, the other without ears.
It was all about one suffering in silence, the other refusing to listen.
Jiang Youyou shifted her gaze from Fang Jin Nian to the fragile, trembling Jiang Nian Nian, and then curved her lips into a smile. "Kneel and apologize, and I’ll forgive you."
The moment Jiang Youyou finished speaking, Jiang Nian Nian pressed her lips together, her face full of hesitation. It seemed her pride had taken a blow; her slender hand reached for the wall beside her, embodying the epitome of delicate fragility.
At the same time, Fang Jin Nian, who had been standing next to her, frowned slightly and unconsciously lifted a foot, but then, remembering something, forcibly restrained himself.
[Beep beep beep! Hatred increased by ten! That’s my host—go for it!] The soft, adorable voice spoke in a bandit’s tone, sounding utterly out of place.
A smile flickered in Jiang Youyou’s eyes as she glanced at the wailing black mist surrounding them, then calmly fixed her attention on Jiang Nian Nian.
"Youyou, I didn’t do it on purpose. Another girl pushed me, and that’s how I spilled wine on you. I didn’t want to attend the banquet at all, but you know how Father is..." At this, Jiang Nian Nian glanced at Fang Jin Nian, instinctively falling silent.
"Enough!" Fang Jin Nian looked coldly at Jiang Nian Nian, his words as icy as winter: "I know exactly what kind of person you are. You needn’t attend next week’s audition."
"What?!" Jiang Nian Nian’s beautiful eyes widened, fixed desperately on Fang Jin Nian. Tears welled up but stubbornly refused to fall, leaving her trembling on the verge of crying as she stared at him.
Jiang Youyou: "...Crazy."
Fang Jin Nian, seeing this, swept a chilly glance at Jiang Youyou before turning and leaving first.
Jiang Youyou paid no mind to that cold look. Instead, she watched Jiang Nian Nian’s fragile performance with mocking interest.
"You won’t find happiness with him. Sister only wants what’s best for you—he’s not a good man." Wiping away her tears, Jiang Nian Nian spoke with righteous concern.
"What’s this?" Jiang Youyou replied cheerfully, "Do you think everyone treats him like some treasure, as you do? You think I can’t find a better man than that deaf fool?"
"What do you mean?!" Jiang Nian Nian’s voice rose in disbelief; she hadn’t expected her so-called sister to say such things. Was her affection for Fang Jin Nian nothing but an act?
"Are you deaf too?" Jiang Youyou said, exasperated. "I mean exactly what I said." With that, she didn’t wait for Jiang Nian Nian to reply, yawned, and turned away.
It was the middle of the night; the banquet was over, yet here they were, standing outside in the wind—two lunatics.
"Let’s go. If you don’t, I’ll strangle you," she said lightly, her words fierce.
The black mist, hearing this, obediently shrank into a ball and dutifully followed Jiang Youyou.
