Hearing Xia Mang's voice, Shen Qing glanced back at the man by the table. One button at his collar was undone. The plain shirt on him somehow looked tall and refined, every inch of him exuding noble elegance.

“Qingqing, did you hear what I said?”

“Mm, I heard.” Shen Qing averted her gaze and looked out at the scenery beyond the window.

“Hey, you might not even know how lively things are online. Some fool even photoshopped your face into a video, full of flaws yet so smug about it.” Xia Mang thought of that flying pig and found it amusing.

Just photoshopping a crappy image, and he really thought he was some character?

Shen Qing narrowed her eyes, a clear chill in them. “Mm, the results come out today. I hung up. I haven't finished eating yet.”

“Alright, bye then.”

Shen Qing ended the call and returned to the table to continue eating.

Gu Ting lifted his head to look at her. “Going to school today?”

The media could not find Shen Qing's address, so they would surely block people at the school gates.

Shen Qing raised an eyebrow. “Yes.”

Seeing the girl's wicked air, Gu Ting's smile deepened. He picked another fried dumpling for her. “Eat more. Don't go hungry.”

A new auto repair shop had opened near Eighth Middle School. Before the sun rose that morning, the iron sheet door of the shop was pulled open with a piercing screech.

A middle-aged man in police uniform came over pushing an electric bike. Seeing the door open, he called out.

“Hey, Wang Minghui! Come take a look at my bike, will you?”

Wang Minghui rubbed his eyes. His hands still carried engine oil that would not wash off, sticky and black.

“Officer Yu, why haven't you replaced this little electric donkey yet?” Wang Minghui strode over and pushed Yu Wenqiang's electric bike closer.

Ever since Shen Qing had taught him a lesson, he had suddenly seen the light. He felt he could no longer muddle along like before, so he had partnered with a few brothers to open a repair shop.

Calling it a repair shop was generous. It was just two large bungalows joined together, and they fixed electric motorcycles as well.

Wang Minghui checked it over. “Ah, your battery is finished. I'll put in a new one.” With that, he went inside to fetch a fresh battery.

Yu Wenqiang looked at him and smiled. Thinking of Shen Qing, he could not help sighing. “Such a fine girl as Shen Qing—how did she end up in this mess?”

Wang Minghui's hands paused. “What happened to Father Shen?”

“Don't you young people go online?” Yu Wenqiang had thought everyone knew.

Wang Minghui rolled his eyes. He spent every day repairing vehicles, and any free time after work went to games. Who had time for anything else?

“Ah, I can't explain it clearly either. Just check the Weibo hot searches yourself.”

Wang Minghui gave a short “oh,” finished installing the battery, and went to find his phone.

Yu Wenqiang smiled helplessly and took out five hundred yuan, pressing it under the wrench on the stool inside.

Wang Minghui had no idea until he looked. One glance and he exploded on the spot.

“Fuck! This guy looks so damn ugly. Father Shen would fall for him?”

“Damn it! This is pure slander!”

Wang Minghui cursed under his breath, called a few of his underlings, shut the shop door, and prepared to leave. “Move! To First Middle School!”

“Brother Hui, we're not going to fight, right?”

“Bro, didn't we turn over a new leaf?”

“Yeah, that Shen Qing is too formidable. We're no match for her...”

Wang Minghui glared. “Who said I was going to fight?”

Chu Yu stepped out of the classroom and saw Mother Chu speaking with Xie Mingming.

“Teacher Xie, please look after Chu Yu. Move his seat a little farther forward.”

“I'm not changing seats.” Chu Yu's face was dark as he approached them slowly.

Seeing him emerge, Mother Chu's expression shifted. “What are you doing out here? Get back inside and study.”

Chu Yu ignored her and stood before Xie Mingming. “Old Xie, I don't want to change seats.”

Xie Mingming pressed his lips together, looking troubled. After a moment's hesitation, he said, “Fine. If you don't want to change, then don't.”

“Chu Yu, do you know what you're saying?” Mother Chu was nearly exploding with rage.

Chu Yu gave his mother a calm glance and spoke politely to Xie Mingming. “Old Xie, I would like a few private words with my mother.”

Xie Mingming glanced at the mother and son, nodded, and turned back into the classroom.

“Mom...”

“Don't call me Mom!”
