Chapter 83: Flaunting Power with the Yu Family's Name?
"Mr. Yu, if I remember correctly, you have more than one daughter, don't you?" Listening to Nie Junran's words, Yu Fei's expression stiffened. "Are you talking about Shen Qing?" Nie Junran smiled. "Yes, I heard your eldest daughter is not easy to deal with. You’ll need to pay her more attention, especially since your father-in-law is getting old and can't handle much trouble." Yu Fei gave a somewhat awkward smile. "Rest assured, Mr. Nie. I’ll have her apologize." "Alright, you go ahead, Mr. Yu. I won't keep you." Nie Junran smiled, stood up, and left.
Yu Fei saw him to the office door. When Nie was out of sight, Yu's smile vanished instantly, his eyes cold as frost.
**
Shen Qing had just finished listening to Old Xie’s endless lecture. She yawned as she left the office, only to bump into a skinny old man holding some test papers. Teacher Cao glared at Shen Qing, but she didn't even look at him. Furious, he stormed into the office, kicking the door so loudly it startled several students inside who were asking about homework.
Shen Qing glanced at the door. Poor souls—now they had to endure the old man's athlete’s foot.
"Sister Qing, Director Yan wants you in his office," Yao Panpan said as soon as she saw Shen Qing approaching.
"Oh."
"Sis, aren’t you curious what it’s about? Aren’t you worried?"
Shen Qing shot her a sideways look. "What’s there to worry about? He can’t beat me anyway."
...
Alright! You’re the boss!
Shen Qing strolled leisurely to Director Yan’s office and politely knocked on the door.
"Come in," Director Yan’s voice called from inside.
She pushed the door open with two fingers and entered. Someone was already seated inside.
"Hello, teacher," Shen Qing greeted, hands shoved in her pockets, her demeanor casual and insolent.
"Shen Qing, is this how you behave? I put you in this school, and this is what you’ve learned?" Yu Fei was infuriated by her nonchalant attitude and immediately stood up, berating her.
"Mr. Yu, calm down. Don’t be so harsh on the child," Director Yan quickly intervened, blocking Yu Fei. This girl was under protection from the capital—they couldn’t afford to offend her.
"Hmph!" Yu Fei shot Shen Qing a glare and sat back on the sofa.
"Director Yan, may I sit?" Shen Qing ignored Yu Fei, speaking directly to Director Yan.
"You may, go ahead," Director Yan rubbed his forehead. Last time she came in, she sat without asking.
"You dare sit? Stand!" Yu Fei slapped the sofa heavily, nearly beside himself with anger.
How dare Shen Qing use her connection to the Yu family to flaunt herself in school!
Shen Qing glanced at him, sat down anyway, and crossed her legs. "Who do you think you are?"
Her posture was wild and arrogant.
"You—"
"Mr. Yu, please calm down," Director Yan stopped Yu Fei, who looked ready to lash out.
"You two, father and daughter, talk things through properly."
"Shen Qing, you must go apologize to Teacher Cao!"
Did she even know whom she had provoked?
The Nie family—were they as easy to deal with as a bunch of street thugs?
Shen Qing smiled. "Is he worthy? Are you?"
Yu Fei froze, veins bulging on his forehead. "Shen Qing, did your mother ever teach you manners?"
Director Yan stood awkwardly to the side, watching Yu Fei’s rage, unsure what to say.
Shen Qing stood, walked closer to Yu Fei, and lowered her voice. "Yu Fei, how many generations of bad luck did it take for my mother and me to be tied to you?"
Yu Fei clenched his fists, teeth grinding audibly.
"Ungrateful girl!" He raised his hand to strike her.
A hint of disdain flickered in Shen Qing’s eyes. She lifted her hand and caught his wrist.
"You—let go!" Yu Fei struggled but couldn’t break free.
"Oh." Shen Qing pushed him forward, and Yu Fei lost his balance, collapsing onto the sofa behind him.
"Shen Qing!" Yu Fei’s face was waxy yellow, lips pale from biting, his whole body trembling as he glared at her.
Outrageous!
Director Yan was startled as well, rushing over to help Yu Fei up. "Mr. Yu, are you alright?"
The Yu family’s status in Fan City had declined, but they still couldn’t afford to offend them.
"Director Yan, Mr. Yu still has half a lifetime left. He won’t die just yet."
"Shen Qing, say less," Director Yan glared at her. This kid was truly troublesome!
But with people from the capital backing her, it was hard to handle.
Yu Fei sat up, staring fiercely at Shen Qing. "Fine, very well! Director Yan, handle this matter impartially. Don’t worry about saving face for me."
Director Yan was stunned, opened his mouth, but said nothing in the end.
Yu Fei continued to glare at Shen Qing. "Let’s see if the Nie family will spare you once you’re cut off from the Yu family!"
