Chapter 97: The MV Trends Online
After dinner, Xia Mang left immediately; she was flying to America for a job. Dongfang Cheng accompanied her, seeing her off at the airport.
“Little brother, you’re not falling for me, are you?” Xia Mang stepped out of the car and looked at Dongfang Cheng with a seductive smile.
Dongfang Cheng closed the car door and locked it, then smiled back at her. “Those are two different things.”
Xia Mang’s eyes darkened for a moment, but her smile only grew more radiant. “Cheeky little brother~”
Dongfang Cheng shuddered involuntarily. That coquettish tone reminded him of that thirty-million-yuan bottle of liquor.
The woman, graceful and charming, gathered her long, wavy hair over her shoulder and gave him a sweet smile before turning to head toward the boarding gate.
Dongfang Cheng stood in a daze for a moment. By the time he came to his senses, she was already gone.
“Damn, I forgot to ask her name.”

Once the parent-teacher meeting was over, the senior students threw themselves back into the tense rhythm of study.
As usual, Shen Qing prepared to sneak into the school by climbing over the wall.
“Wait!” The voice came suddenly—Shen Qing was already at the top of the wall.
An elderly man in the uniform of the school’s security guard jogged over. He’d been watching for over an hour and had finally caught someone.
“Is there something you need?” Shen Qing squatted on the top of the wall, looking down at the old man from above.
The old man grinned. “You must be Shen Qing.”
“That’s me.”
“Could you sign something for me? My grandson is a big fan of yours.”
“Oh.” Shen Qing tilted her head, thought for a couple of seconds, then reached into the pocket of her school uniform and pulled out a blank math test paper, signing her name on it.
“This should do.”
“Hmm?” The old man hadn’t even reacted before a crisp, white test paper landed in his hands.
“You can’t just not do this test, you know…” He looked up, but the student was already gone.
Having escaped the security guard, Shen Qing quickly entered the classroom.
The first period teacher hadn’t arrived yet, and the classroom was in chaos, so no one noticed when the “big sister” entered.
Shen Qing pulled out a chair. Nie Huan was writing something but looked up and grinned when she saw her. “You’re here.”
“Yeah.” Shen Qing fished her phone out of her pocket, shoved it into the desk drawer, then lay her head on the desk and closed her eyes.
“You’re trending again,” Nie Huan whispered, leaning over.
“Mhm.”
Shen Qing wasn’t surprised. During dinner yesterday, Mo Wuxie had mentioned that the song-and-dance MV would be released at midnight and would play on a loop on the outdoor screen at Star Plaza. Mo Wuxie spent money where it mattered, only looping it during rush hours.
When Xie Mingming walked into the classroom, the students were still talking about today’s trending topics.
“Ahem! Quiet down.” Xie Mingming cleared her throat.
“Sister Qing is just stunning.”
“I think Zhai Chao is so handsome!”
“Sister Qing is even more handsome! Ahhh! I think I might be turning!”
“Damn! Look at this ‘official boyfriend’—why does he look like the PE teacher?”
“Let me see—he kind of does.”
“This lighting is just awful, but with Sister Qing there, everyone else is just a supporting role.”
Xie Mingming: “…”
“Yao Panpan, Yao Panpan!”
“So good-looking… huh?” Yao Panpan was still lost in the MV when she heard Xie Mingming calling her.
“Are we having class or not? Look at the time!” Once the class had quieted down, Xie Mingming tossed a stack of test papers onto the desk.
“Just look at your grades. Hand me your phones, all of you. Yao Panpan, as class monitor, set a good example.”
Yao Panpan let out a reluctant “okay” and handed over her phone, quickly followed by the rest of the class piling theirs on the podium.
Xie Mingming glanced at the last row. Nie Huan was busy with homework, and, as expected, Shen Qing was still sleeping.
“Let’s start class. We’ll go over some problems first. Was this protein question really so hard? Half the class got the very first one wrong. Let’s look at this disulfide bond…”
On the podium, Xie Mingming lectured passionately. Maybe last night’s parent-teacher meeting had worked—everyone seemed to be listening attentively.
Except for the two in the last row.
Nie Huan opened Weibo’s trending topics; the MV was already number one.
“Look, you’re at the top,” Nie Huan said openly, handing her phone to Shen Qing.
Shen Qing opened one eye, barely glanced at the screen before murmuring, “Oh,” and went right back to sleep.
Nie Huan chuckled, hiding her phone under the desk and opening the top trending post to check the comments.
Without exception, everyone was praising Shen Qing’s looks—and some were expressing sympathy for Zhai Chao.
She hadn’t seen the MV yet, but she came across a photo in the comments: Shen Qing and a man in an embrace. She opened it for a closer look, and when she saw the man’s face, she froze for a couple of seconds.
