Chapter 5: Sis, Is He Pursuing You?
Zhong Yi frowned—why was it them again, and now with an extra person?
“Oh wow! What a coincidence! What are you guys doing in Fancheng?” Dongfang Cheng greeted them cheerfully.
“Hey! The kid’s actually dressed like a proper human today!”
Zhong Yi shot him a glare. “Show-off!”
“Are you from Fancheng?” Shen Qing interrupted their brewing argument.
Gu Ting stood between them, a faint smile on his handsome face. What a coincidence indeed.
“No, but my friend has a company here in Fancheng. We’re just here for fun,” Dongfang Cheng replied.
Mo Wuxie suddenly stepped forward; this girl was stunning!
“Beautiful... fairy, have you ever thought about becoming a star?” Mo Wuxie was convinced of his own unrivaled good looks—few could resist his charm in this world.
Shen Qing watched the man batting his eyelashes at her, a muscle twitching at the corner of her eye...
Gu Ting promptly pulled him back, and at the same time, Zhong Yi shielded Shen Qing behind him.
Mo Wuxie: ...
Did they think he was some kind of monster?
“Miss Shen, my friend here…” Gu Ting gestured at his own head.
Brain-damaged Mo Wuxie: ...
Onlooker Dongfang Cheng: Savage!
“Oh,” Shen Qing replied, her tone flat.
“Wait a second, Gu Ting, how did you know the fairy’s surname is Shen? Don’t tell me... you two are already at that stage?” Dongfang Cheng feigned surprise, covering his mouth as his gaze flickered between Gu Ting and Shen Qing.
“What stage? Is this pretty fairy Gu Ting’s girlfriend?” Mo Wuxie chimed in.
Gu Ting was taken aback. “Ahem!”
Shen Qing was also surprised. How could they misunderstand so easily?
“My sister doesn’t have a boyfriend!” Zhong Yi quickly clarified.
These three men looked so frail—how could any of them be good enough for his sister Qing!
Dongfang Cheng reached out to ruffle Zhong Yi’s hair. “You never know.”
Zhong Yi slapped his hand away. “Don’t touch me.”
Gu Ting cleared his throat. “Let’s not make a scene. Miss Shen, apologies for the misunderstanding.”
“As long as it’s cleared up. We have things to do, so we’ll be leaving.”
“Hey, Miss Shen!” Mo Wuxie blocked Shen Qing’s path.
“Is there something you need?” Shen Qing looked at him.
“You know Gu Ting, so we’re friends too. Why not have a meal together? Gu Ting’s buying!”
Gu Ting: “...I’ll buy.”
Zhong Yi looked at Shen Qing. “Sis?”
“Thank you.” Free food—why not?
“Let me introduce myself: I’m Dongfang Cheng, this is Gu Ting, that’s Mo Wuxie. Fairy, what are your names?”
“Shen Qing.”
“Zhong Yi.”
Dongfang Cheng scratched his head. “You two have different surnames?”
Zhong Yi rolled his eyes. “Not real siblings, but closer than blood.”
“Let’s go, Zhong Yi, don’t bother talking to this idiot,” Mo Wuxie said, throwing an arm around Zhong Yi’s shoulders.
“I heard there’s a famous restaurant here, the Joy Pavilion. They serve imperial cuisine. How does that sound?” Gu Ting and Shen Qing walked at the back.
“Sounds good. You’re paying, so you decide.”
“What will you do after dinner? I can give you a ride,” Gu Ting asked, glancing sideways at the girl’s snow-white earlobe and elegant neckline.
“Thank you, the airport,” Shen Qing replied, meeting his gaze.
He kept looking at her.
So boring.
Shen Qing quickly looked away and hurried to catch up with the others.
Gu Ting fell behind, smiling silently.

After dinner, a black van pulled up by the curb.
Dongfang Cheng and Mo Wuxie waggled their eyebrows at Gu Ting. “We’ll head off, Gu Ting.”
Gu Ting nodded and turned to Shen Qing.
“Get in. I’ll take you.”
Zhong Yi clicked his tongue. “This van...”
Gu Ting didn’t look short on cash…
So why was he driving a van…?
Gu Ting opened the rear door for Shen Qing. The black leather seats gleamed, and there was a silver metal table that looked even more expensive than the car itself…
Zhong Yi’s jaw nearly dropped as Shen Qing got in.
“Sis, wait for me.” Zhong Yi tried to climb into the back, but Gu Ting quickly grabbed him by the collar and shoved him into the passenger seat.
Zhong Yi: ...
The driver was a young man, with delicate features, dressed all in black.
“To the airport,” Gu Ting said, sitting beside Shen Qing and closing the door.
The man said nothing and started the engine.
The ride was fast, and Shen Qing found the seat quite comfortable.
At the airport, Gu Ting helped them get their tickets.
“Sis, is he pursuing you?” Zhong Yi asked, looking at the tall, strong man waiting in line for the ATM.
Shen Qing looked down at her phone, saying nothing.
“Sis, can I leave later?”
“No,” Shen Qing replied, sending a message before turning off her phone.
“When you get to Country M, someone will pick you up. Study hard.” Shen Qing patted Zhong Yi’s shoulder and glanced at Gu Ting as he walked over.
Still a bit short…
“The tickets are ready. Let’s go,” Gu Ting said, handing the ticket to Zhong Yi.
“Okay.” Zhong Yi sounded glum.
Gu Ting stood beside Shen Qing, lowering his head slightly. “There’s a really good grass jelly dessert place nearby. Want to go?”
Dongfang Cheng had told him about the internet-famous shop in the airport.
Shen Qing looked sideways at him and raised her head a little.
“What are you two doing!” Zhong Yi immediately separated them.
If this were a TV drama, the next second they’d be kissing.
Gu Ting smiled. “We weren’t doing anything.”
Shen Qing glanced at him but said nothing.
Zhong Yi walked over to Gu Ting, looking up seriously.
“Gu Ting, stop thinking about my sister.”
The man was taken aback and bent down. “Why not?”
Looking at the man suddenly lowering his head, Zhong Yi took a step back. His voice was so nice…
Damn!
His sister was a sucker for nice voices!
“Shameless flirt,” Zhong Yi muttered, grabbing his things and leaving.
Gu Ting: ...
But perhaps, he thought, that could be a breakthrough.
“Sis, I’m going now.”
Shen Qing waved her hand. “Keep warm.”
Zhong Yi: ...
Gu Ting: ...
Watching Zhong Yi disappear, Gu Ting asked again, “Want to get something to eat? My treat.”
Shen Qing crossed her arms. “All right, lead the way.”
“Come with me.”
