Lan Xinqiao hurried over. "Miss Shen."

Shen Qing nodded coldly. "I'm leaving."

Lan Xinqiao smiled and nodded. "Safe travels."

Shen Qing and Xia Mang turned out of the alley just as Lan Xinqiao finished loading the suspect into the police car.

"Director Lan, is this another major case?" a junior officer asked beside her.

These past few months, things had been turbulent in Fan City; this was already the second drug case.

Lan Xinqiao narrowed her eyes. "It’s time to clean up Fan City."

Xia Mang went home and cooked two bowls of noodles. She saw a certain someone lounging on the sofa, leisurely eating wedding candies.

"Here." She placed the noodles on the coffee table, directly in front of Shen Qing.

"Want one?" Shen Qing tossed a candied date into her lap.

Xia Mang was taken aback. So soon, she was already handing out wedding candies?

She glanced at it, undisguised disdain flashing across her face. "You eat it yourself."

She’d rather stick to her single-person alkaline noodles.

Shen Qing chuckled, swallowed what was in her mouth, and reached for the noodles on the table.

"That woman today, she’s the eldest daughter of the Lan family, isn’t she?" Xia Mang said halfway through her meal.

"Yes."

"She seems to respect you a lot. Has she discovered your identity?"

Shen Qing slurped up the noodles, chewed twice, swallowed, and looked up at Xia Mang. "Which identity are you asking about?"

Xia Mang stared at her for a second, then took a fierce slurp of noodles. "What other identities could you possibly have?"

Li Dog-Egg?
Gang leader in Jiang City?
Queen bee at Fan City No. 1 High School?
Hopeless academic failure?
Aside from these, what other identities could there be?

Shen Qing finished her noodles, dropped two words, "Take a guess." After a few seconds, she added, "Wash my bowl."

"Damn it!" Xia Mang cursed. She’d never met anyone thicker-skinned than Shen Qing. After complaining, she still obediently went to wash the bowls.

That evening, they went to the Joy Pavilion for dinner. Xia Mang put on a delicate makeup look, making her appear even more radiant.

"Qingqing, you’re meeting your old boyfriend dressed like this?" Xia Mang glanced at Shen Qing—black hoodie and jeans, as plain as a high schooler.

"Watch your language," Shen Qing replied coolly, changing her shoes at the entrance.

Xia Mang grinned. "Tsk tsk tsk, he’s a full six years older than you. Can’t call him a boy anymore, can you?"

Shen Qing looked up, eyes cold, and Xia Mang shrank away, shutting her mouth.

Xia Mang had a car in Fan City—a red sports car, eye-catching on the road. They arrived at the Joy Pavilion at five fifty and spotted familiar faces in the parking lot.

"Fairy!" Dongfang Cheng spotted Shen Qing as soon as he got out of the car, ran over excitedly, and tried to hug her, only to be brushed aside by Gu Ting’s hand.

"He didn’t bump into you, did he?" Gu Ting shot Dongfang Cheng a glare, then turned to Shen Qing with gentle concern.

"Damn! I got hit like this and you don’t even spare me a glance!" Dongfang Cheng grumbled, stopped by Mo Wuxie at the side.

After all, it wasn’t the first time Ting had favored beauty over friendship.

"Where’s our sister?" Gu Ting asked, not seeing Xia Mang.

Shen Qing gave him a meaningful look. He was getting quite used to saying it.

"Backing up—look, here she comes." Shen Qing pointed, and the three men turned to see a woman striding over in high heels, her gorgeous curly hair cascading, sunglasses hiding her face.

"Wow! Fairy, your sister looks stunning!" Dongfang Cheng craned his neck for a better look.

Gu Ting glanced over, then looked away. "Our sister has quite a versatile style." She was much more restrained at school during the day.

"Mm." Shen Qing folded her arms, watching Xia Mang approach.

"Qingqing, wow, you all arrived so early?" Xia Mang took off her sunglasses, revealing a breathtakingly beautiful face and a charming smile.

"Damn! You, you, you..." Dongfang Cheng was so stunned by her looks he couldn't find words.

Xia Mang’s attention was on Shen Qing and Gu Ting. Dongfang Cheng’s exclamation startled her—not the sound, but his face.

"You? What are you doing here?" Xia Mang looked as if she’d seen a ghost, stepping back, wary that Dongfang Cheng might come after her.

Mo Wuxie was confused. "Cheng, you two know each other?"

Gu Ting glanced at Shen Qing, puzzled. Shen Qing shook her head, indicating she had no idea.

"Hey! I was about to ask what you’re doing here. Since you’re here, pay up!" Dongfang Cheng advanced on Xia Mang, holding out his hand.

Xia Mang laughed softly. "Little brother, you know this is extortion, right?"

Mo Wuxie couldn’t stand it. "Cheng, how can you ask a young lady for money?"

The Dongfang family surely wasn’t short on cash.

"Nonsense!" Dongfang Cheng glared at Mo Wuxie, his tone turning aggrieved. "This wicked sister made me drink all night—spent thirty million!"

And all they did was drink!
