Chapter 149: Senior Brother and Junior Sister
However, the God of War armor is not easy to acquire. It is released in limited quantities each quarter and is snatched up the moment it becomes available.
Shen Qing stared at Lu Xuanyou for a second. "You bought it?"
"I used some connections. I haven't even tried playing with it yet."
"More money than sense."
Being retorted by Shen Qing in such a way, Lu Xuanyou actually laughed, his gaze softening as he looked at her. "Don't be so fierce with me, Qingqing."
Shen Qing narrowed her eyes, her gaze toward Lu Xuanyou lacking warmth. She replied coldly, "Don't act up."
Lu Xuanyou paused, then laughed, clearly in quite a good mood.
"Are you coming to stay at my place tonight, Qingqing? I have plenty of spare rooms."
"I've booked a hotel."
Lu Xuanyou was not surprised; every time she visited, she stayed at a hotel alone, and this time would be no exception.
"Then I'll drop you off." Seeing her stand up, Lu Xuanyou immediately rose as well, putting on his mask at the same time.
Shen Qing hesitated for a moment. "Fine."
Lu Xuanyou's car was parked outside. He opened the passenger door for Shen Qing before slipping into the driver's seat.
"The same hotel as before, right?"
"Yes," Shen Qing replied, subconsciously reaching out to feel under the seat.
Lu Xuanyou noticed her movement. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just looking for a snack." Shen Qing narrowed her eyes and turned to look out the window.
When did she start getting so used to riding in Gu Ting's car?
Lu Xuanyou took off his mask and started the engine. The trees and buildings on both sides flashed by.
Shen Qing rested her head on one hand. The phone on her lap suddenly vibrated. Lu Xuanyou caught a glimpse of it; it was a video call from someone named "G."
Shen Qing pulled a pair of earphones from somewhere, put them on, and answered the call.
Lu Xuanyou frowned slightly. He had caught a glimpse of the caller—a man, a very handsome man.
"Qingqing, whose call is that?" Lu Xuanyou asked with a smile, his voice impossibly gentle.
Shen Qing paused and turned to look at Lu Xuanyou. The man had already turned his head away, focusing intently on his driving, looking as serious as could be.
"A school teacher."
"Who is that beside you?" Gu Ting narrowed his eyes, his tone laced with heavy jealousy.
Shen Qing withdrew her gaze from Lu Xuanyou and glanced at the man on the video call.
"A senior."
"A senior-junior relationship?" Gu Ting was lying on his bed, rolling over. The collar of his pajama top was low, revealing a stretch of his collarbone.
Shen Qing was stunned. "..."
Excuse me, that was a bit much...
Gu Ting chuckled lowly. "Did you go out to play today?"
Shen Qing looked away, her voice quite indifferent. "Not really."
"Oh, have you gone through the fundamental knowledge points I sent you?" Gu Ting continued to ask.
"I haven't looked at them," Shen Qing replied bluntly.
Lu Xuanyou couldn't help but look at her twice more. Judging by her tone, she seemed to be in... a good mood.
"I'm hanging up."
"Alright. Go back and rest early tonight. Stay safe." Gu Ting emphasized the last four words.
Shen Qing hung up the phone directly, then took off the earphones, coiled them up, and tucked them into her pocket.
"Your teacher is quite young," Lu Xuanyou said as he slowed the car and drove into the hotel parking lot.
"He's alright." Shen Qing lowered her eyes and swiped away a message from Xia Mang.
Lu Xuanyou parked the car. Seeing her still sitting there, he asked with a smile, "Are you sure you won't stay at my place?"
"I have a friend who wants a signed photo of you."
Lu Xuanyou paused for a second. "Sure, I'll bring you one next time."
"Mm, thank you."
"There's no need for that word between us. Shall I come pick you up tomorrow?"
"No need." Shen Qing opened the door and got out of the car.
The girl’s back was cold and distant. Lu Xuanyou smiled helplessly and drove away.
Shen Qing took the elevator up. Just as the doors were about to close, a hand reached in, forcing them open again. A person in black, wearing a hat and a mask, stepped inside. They weren't very tall, and judging by their gait, it was a man.
The man glanced cautiously at Shen Qing, took out his phone, and turned his back to her to take a selfie. From that angle, he could capture her profile perfectly.
Before he could even press the shutter, Shen Qing turned her head, her icy gaze piercing directly into the lens with a sharpness that felt like a death threat.
The man was so frightened by this sudden "death glare" that he nearly dropped his phone on the floor.
